You don't think adding an unnecessary set of actions to an already tedious, drawn-out process would impact you at all?

I'd say Tempest should make a thread, so you guys can see how many people disagree with this idea. It does not need to happpen.

It wouldn't impact me because I wouldn't mind it. I'm hardly speaking for everyone, just my own opinions on it. I think it is something that should be discussed and brainstormed on. Perhaps the community can come up with something that serves the intended purpose but doesn't put off the players. It is worth looking into if only to help control the botting situation.

You have only 1 crafting job at above R20, the rest aren't even close to R20 and you haven't even touched 3 of them. You have yet to experience the hellgrind that is 40-50.

What hell grind? I've took my BSM from 39.5 to 5k from 44 in the past two weeks doing nothing but leves, and that's with only taking 40+ BSM leves and using the rest on ARM. Took my ARM 36 to 38 since then too. Grinding crafts is a thing of the past.

he wasnt an unknown bot on my server at the time, so i wouldnt say "the bots noone knows about"

this guy literaly got a few 50 crafts overnight, and then all his combat was being botted up while he gathered mats, it was pretty bad

and those of us in his LS saw him doing it, reported him, and got him banned


ALOT of the people not getting banned are cuz no ones reporting them, or cuz you people dont know how to report, telling the task force "hes a bot get him" doesnt say anything, people need to actualy detail out what they are doing so they know what they are looking at too

40-50 is just a little more than what it takes to get to 1-39 combined. 48-49 and 49-50 is (depending on the class as some get better recipes) about 300 completed synths each rank. It's certainly not something that's fun, but adding some kind of captcha type requirement after each completed synth wouldn't make it any better.

To help with crafting botting I think they should just put in a validation, similar to what websites do to make sure there is a person at the keyboard.

Instead of selecting finnish at the end of a synth, bring up a combination of 4 random characters you have to type in to actually get the synth completed.

you fail, you lose the synth, I know this does not stop other forms of botting, but every element helps.

I think this is a great idea! Propose it on the forums itself if you haven't already. It would definately make the botting experience that much harder.

Don't listen to the other guy. I synth is a synth, just like grinding on mobs. The button combination shouldn't be long but like as you finish the synthesis, to complete it you have to type in the letter to finish. One or the other would be perfect. It's not that bad plus I think it's a great trade.

I don't think it matters how many different validations or challenges you put in for crafting, the developers of these bot utlities WILL find a way of adapting their software. It's just the nature of things.
It's the same as hacking, companies will get all this great security which looks wonderful on paper, but a determined hacker will eventually break it.

I hope SE realises this and doesn't put in extra steps to crafting, as it will make crafting take even longer to do for those who do play legitimately and put most people off crafting altogether (unless they bot).

I like the(in the first screen shot) person in your LS saying they dont respond to their LS buddies while crafting because they have their kids crafting and they turn off all communications. Maybe I should do this i have 2 kids also!

Hah, Ophelia's one of my best friends in-game and I can confirm this to be true, at least in her case (as you can see in the screenshot, I'm the one talking to her). I can't speak for these other people mentioned in this thread who say they have kids playing for them, though...

I hope you took my advice and reported it to the Special Task Force as well, Gleb!
