Crafting is useless?

I'd say it's more useful than those 2 games.

You certainly never played FFXI, especially prior to the 99 cap.

in FFXI every player was considered gimp for not having food. here food is useless in comparison and most wont care if you dont have food.

He never played XI as far as I can tell, as back in 75 cap, some standard gear was crafted, e.g sniper rings, haubergeon, scorpion harness, certain weapons (like Blue Mage's non R/E alternative swords), leveling up crafted gear was extremely valuable and so on.

Crafting in XIV is useless in terms of progression as dungeon drops 15-45 drop HQ+Additional stat versions.
