    Keep in mind that this is an MMO where everyone can literally do everything. I shudder to think what would happen if each crafting class gave it's own sort of boost to your gear and basically required everyone who wanted to do Coil to level up their crafting classes to the max and then proceed to gear them just so that they can have the best possible chance to complete a turn. It would be a new age where the common PF requirement would be "Full 5-meld gear with all craft boosts"

    There's a reason why you can't meld materia into gear you get from dungeons.

    Well, in WoW, the item enchantments are able to be sold on the auction house (their equivalent of the market board). And so many people craft that the prices are actually quite reasonable.
