Okay I want to know what this group of goblins are and why they share a name with a well known conspiracy theory?

From what I can gather is that they're a group of Goblins that keeps some of the biggest secrets from the land of Eorzea. Secrets that no common man is supposed to know (technological advances, etc.). Pretty much what all big conspiracies theories are made of.

Mutamix used to be a part of this group before he decided to defect and teach people about the concept of Materia (his reasoning being that new advances can only be achieved if information is disseminated; kind of like open sourcing, really).

Brayflox actually stole one of their secrets (the recipe for a special kind of cheese), which is why they end up attacking her home.

As for why they have that name, is mostly cuz' of a funny reference to the real life Illuminati (especially since in japanese, those Goblins are called the "Blue Hand", instead).

They are the keeper of the secret of the secret cheese, cheese is sacred for them. I think they are some kind of comic hidden society, well we don't really know anything about goblins at all, except that they must all be crazy.
