Let's just put out a broad, basic item that every server will probably have plenty of around. Let's use Battlecraft Demimateria III is the base. They spiked here recently to 180k each, but the average is around 110k.

I'd expect coke to be that low considering how damn easy it is to get them now.
Remember how Derimite Webs were high priced due to how troublesome they were to farm? (mostly due to everyone else farming them at once). Once Square made the material more common, prices plummeted. High supply, low prices.

Every character on the server can get 12 free philo mats a day now(not even counting dungeon drops), there's no reason they'd be high-value anymore.
Price is determined by supply and demand. Demand was higher for battlecraft and primal demimateria early on for primal glamour weapons when they were new.
Now they are no longer new, and more people have desynth skills high enough to get them, and people have been running instances that drop items that yield them much more frequently for nexus light. Higher supply
The title of this thread is very dramatic.
The contents therein are humdrum at best.
Like Stouter Taru said: More suppliers means more elasticity of price, meaning more competition.
All products in this game are homogenous, and we have essentially zero barriers to entry on a vast majority of them.
Therefore we have an essentially unlimited number of suppliers.
Early suppliers of an in demand product will jump on the exponential growth phase of a product's price scale. As others see the viability and profit potential, they will ramp up production and it will enter a lag phase where it will level off with demand/affordability.
Once demand has been fulfilled, price will either plummet with demand or the price will go up with scarcity. Rinse and repeat, and you have an economy unaffected by the threat of resource exhaustion.
Coeurl's economy is in no way "in shambles".
It's exactly what the player base (and a few...industrious, we'll say...bots) have shaped it to be.
Well, here on Diablos the market for crafting and gathering materia is completely down the drains...thanks to a hell lot of spiritbonding bots that have been reported over and over again. But apparently it is not so big of an issue for SE to take care of. Prices for these materia dropped and just the plain amount of them offered on the MB is crazy. Mind you they were not really overpriced before but now...you can just throw them away and it wouldn't make a change in your wall/
Crafting and gathering materia, yes. Everything else - no. Tier 4 Crit materia is still 400k, Det is even 600k on my server. The bots obviously aren't working hard enough or else I'd already have my Novus.Well, here on Diablos the market for crafting and gathering materia is completely down the drains...thanks to a hell lot of spiritbonding bots that have been reported over and over again.
