Tanking Wars don't really need to worry about running out thanks to IB and pacification but I understand palys can have some issue with it.
--Paladin has less of an issue with TP than WAR.

Basically all actions that a WAR performs rely on TP in a prolonged fight, for both mitigation (wrath for IB) AND enmity -- the need to spend TP is more or less constant. A PLD on the otherhand can routinely dump their MP into flash or self SS (*which they should be doing as is, especially in T8 and T9, or T7 solo-tank strat [after the first three adds]*). When you have sufficient enmity, do some other action to conserve enough TP for new mob pickup, and or for making it through the fight. If you're having to constantly halone to hold threat (other than on pickup), something is pretty much 'wrong'. (aka, people are not popping Quelling)

It's a common mistake of players to 'forget' that they have MP, and to never use it.

Isn't it also going to make it easier to ensure I have Shield Bash when I need it and I'm not stuck on GCD (seems to happen a lil' bit at the moment, could just be I'm not pro PLD yet but there are lag elements to this as well).
Shield Bash is on GCD, because you're supposed to be "timing" attacks and knowing in advance when they're coming. I think this is essentially by design and that the class is intended to think ahead-rather than 're-actively' tanking.

-Bottom line is as you're supposed to know approximately when an attack is coming, SS isn't going to help you that much in handling interrupts.
