I think the crafting mats should drop from the mobs or include them in chests throughout the dungeon. Boss chests should drop gear or perhaps crafting materials that can only be found in that dungeon.

This is a great idea... put it in those chests where you get X-Potions and such - make those the crafting item chests. Then make the boss chests gear. I don't like running a whole dungeon and not get one piece of gear.I think they should change the drops so that gear drops from bosses and the mats drop from all of those little miscellaneous chests scattered about the dungeon. Right now, the only drops from those are items no one ever even uses, and are so plentiful in the game that they sell on the market boards for peanuts because no one uses them ever.

Same. I never managed to finish the sets from the 2.2 dungeons and even though it's i70 gear I'd like it for glamour.

Yeah, there's nothing quite like the exhilarating experience of beating the kraken in Hullbreaker and getting six vials of voidsent blood as your reward. It's like getting "Charlie Browned" on Halloween, except getting a rock would be mildly awesome.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue... but also sad to know that so many are having this issue as well.

Id rather have useless gear to glamour and excess useless gear to convert to GC seals and use those seals to get the mat or item that I want.

I also feel annoyed by the high dungeon mat drops. I've also been trying to farm the dragoon set (just need the head piece) and there were a good number of runs that had nothing but mats drop. I thought there was an even possibility of mats and gear dropping throughout the dungeon, like having a mat drops throughout the dungeon and at least 1 or 2 gear drops from bosses. Nope, all chests have high drop rates for mats and very little rates for gear. I just gave up on that last piece, not worth it to me.
OH LOOK A GEAR DROP! oh... it's just a bracelet... I guess I'll roll on it just to get SOMETHING that's a mat drop!
Not to mention that with the introduction of the Ixali Knots that can let you net about 8-10+ mats in a day, I can see the value of the mats dropping in the future. Yet they'll still hold the trend of having mats drop in high level dungeons.
I'll take those peacock ores off your hands, I need not glamour but I love me some crafting to make gil off it. >_>It is quite depressing, at least for people who have no need for the gear the seals from them or vanity are far more worth then crappy crafting mats, i think one SV run we saw 3 peacock ores in a row, so not only was RNG cruel enough to only give crafting mats it picked the SAME ONE. 3 times back to back. i mean each boss dropped 1 ore each..
It's gotten to the point i really don't even want to do Roulette anymore unless i need to desperately cap soildery, because crafting mats are not good motivation.
In my case you were super lucky and I wish I was you considering I can't start getting master crafts without ores or seals.
Edit: I avoid beastmen tribal stuff, especially the Sylph and Ixali. Partially due to laziness and partially due to it just not being too much of an enjoyment or interest to me. ^^; (No, I don't really care if I can get a mount or minion from it.)

I've stopped doing the expert a long time ago for farming purposes. The only reason I go now is for my daily Alex map. I couldn't tell you the last time I've seen a boss chest actually drop gear though.
I would prefer if they did similar to ST where gear dropped with xx% chance of additional stuff. in dungs would be gear +say 30% of also dropping crafting mats.I think they should change the drops so that gear drops from bosses and the mats drop from all of those little miscellaneous chests scattered about the dungeon. Right now, the only drops from those are items no one ever even uses, and are so plentiful in the game that they sell on the market boards for peanuts because no one uses them ever.
