ST is an insult to my intellegenceEvery in every MMO they try to design top tier endgame to be challenging for an organized team. If a group of total strangers can go in and beat something, then it would be total cake walk for the organized FC group.
FFXIV does offer content that total strangers and random people can finish which is crystal tower and dungeons. If you want to be the best of the best then you build a team and progress together in the raid.
There aren't very many multiplayer games out there that don't benefit from having like-minded people playing together, as opposed to playing with randoms. (FPS, MOBAs, MMORPGs...etc. all have competitive teams.)statics are like the cool kids cliques in school that dont let anyone in unless they can use them. or like republicans,i dont care about the poor as long as im doing ok. if they are poor they need to try harder.
the point is the devs dont want elemental resistances because it would lead to people being left out,but thats exactly what statics do. exclude people. what i would propose is a system similar to wolves den for raids that encourages solo queueing for raids. let peope have thier precious statics, but if you go with a static premade you have to deal with the standard lockouts we have now. if you solo queue you get to ignore lockouts but you are forced to mingle with the general population instead of isolating yourself.

Devs took out elemental attacks because it was a broken mechanic. (Lol Ifrit. BLM ice spam go!)

Also.... what's stopping you from making a static or joining one? your not the only one who complains about "oh I don't have a static. Why can't you do coil without one! QQ" and there are always people in party finder looking for such and such for thier statics.
Try duty finder turn 5 and see how that turns out. Would be a good example of challenging content with randoms. It can be done.... usually after hours of requing. Maybe longer if they never invented echo.

"help static groups make me feel inferior."
Yeah I bet groups of people who spend a majority of their free time raiding while others are busy with school/work can be seen as the Internet coolkids.
Please.
I'm juggling uni and raiding myself and I don't envy anyone because they get to keep raiding into the night and perhaps even the morning on a busy weekday.

I dunno... Syrcus Tower is easier than Labyrinth of the Ancients (which is what I believe Zoeila is referring to. It is pretty brain numbing when you take into consideration that SE intentionally chose to make a supposed end-game raid easier than the previous).

The static I'm in, for example, raids Thursday -> Sunday, 2 hours a day. (9PM-11PM)
We don't have to all be present every single time because we are allowed to take time off for important real life issues. The only thing expected is a notification on our guildwork or in the linkshell ahead of time.
A static doesn't necessarily have to be super-hardcore. It's a way to get a consistent, reliable raiding group every week.
