I think you peeps are giving old currency way too much importance…

The old currency does have some importance to the game's history. Why the heck not have a little memento of all of the philo everyone has relentlessly farmed sitting on one's wall as a memory to what was?

They're not important to we adventurers, though. They're essentially bartering chips. The tomestones themselves are purchased by historians and collectors, and Rowena Inc. operates as a middleman for this exchange.

When collectors cease to be interested in the tomestone du jour, we have no reason to acquire them--and neither does Rowena.

Some housing items could be nice. They'd look perfect next to the other wall mounts.

Yeah it is kinda odd if Eorzea just forgets currency.. on Earth we know about currency used a very long time ago and have them in museums and stuff.

In-game it's not a currency... just crap that rich people like to collect.

I like this idea a lot! Would be nice to be able to turn obsolete tomestones into some type of vanity piece, i.e. furnishing. I mean, we make furniture out of spare parts we find inside of Coils and Crystal Tower, so why not this? I'm always trying to find new ways to spice up my house/room.

That would be nice...I maxed out my philo right before it was removed and wasn't intending to turn it in, so I'm a little unhappy that it's use it or lose it now.
