Why the Marmot Steak!! O_O

Hello Siren Server!

I hail from Goblin server! ^_^ I'm a friendly Gobbie!

Today, I come with some sad news. Someone who used to be a Gobbie became a Siren!
However, that person also chose to make off with the rare Marmot Steak from my FC chest! D=



That person also helped herself to a few other things....





Granted, my FC was lucky. The thief in question only took our most valued Marmot Steak and Linen Parasols!
Still, even though we didn't have other rare and valuable items, it was an act of betrayal by someone whom was very friendly with us when she decided to join.
My FC is a fairly casual FC and we try to be helpful to our members.
We allowed our members to use the items in the FC chest because we wanted to create a good environment.
A lot of our members took the time to harvest, craft, and grow the things that were so callously taken. As an FC lead, it is disheartening to see such selfishness run rampant.
This is a player created problem, I doubt the gm's will do much. However, I felt as if it was necessary to warn Siren about this person lest she betrays you the way she did us.
As someone who has had things stolen before, it is not a very good feeling to have.

Now to the most important question- why the Marmot Steak!

As much as I don't like saying this, nameing-and-shaming on the forums is prohibited so your post will probably be deleted and you will receive a warning/temp ban if you don't delete it yourself.

Wow you guys really got cleared out. There isn't much you can do sadly other than report it and hope the GM team looks into the matter. That being said, the GMs have access to your FC histories so they can and sometimes will act on suspicious activity such as this. Even if you think it's pointless, report it just to be safe (nothing ventured, nothing gained). I do hope your problem gets resolved smoothly ^_^

^^ lol yeah, it seems as if she took just about anything that would fit into her inventory before transferring to Siren.
I did report her just in case the GMs decide to do something about this.
This type of behavior should be punishable. If nothing happens I at least want to let others know about this person so that they can avoid getting into a situation like this.

Update:
I would like to thank GM Philoteru for getting back to me about this issue.
I won't know the outcome of the GM investigation but I am glad that there will be one.

It's really disheartening.

If this person took glazenuts or somesuch, I could somehow get the temptation. At least she would have benefited from it financially.
But to literally steal everything not nailed down just because they could.. it's one of those things that makes you lose faith in the people in general. It's like she just did this because she could. A kick in the gut with no warning.

Meh, it'll pass. Worse things have happened, obviously.

I always believed that - at least in a virtual world, where the costs for doing so are very low - a person should try to make other people's day better, not worse. If you can't afford to be a moral person here, what kind of a person are you irl?

Leaving little crap trails behind you as you go isn't a talent...but the sign of inadequate toilet training.

Let it go. Whatever she took is gone. The GM's likely will not replace it, she'll not magically come back to your server to give it back. Give your report to the GM's and just let it go.

You really didn't think your post through did you? Now everyone can figure out who it was just by looking up your FC. As its the only person whos name begins with N. Now you could potentially get more people harassing you and her.

I didn't harass anyone.
I made a character on Siren server to warn you and your FC mates about a thief, this is true but again I didn't harass anyone.
I had planned to speak directly to you but you weren't online. The Lodestone provided information of the person who was the next in command.
His personal relationship to you was irrelevant, I was looking for the Lead or the next best thing. I wasn't about to bring this matter to your regular members.

I was very honest but polite when I spoke to him. In return, he was equally polite. I did offer proof of her thievery but your second in command wasn't interested in proof.
In the end, when it became obvious that this person wouldn't do much I simply thanked him for his time and left him be.
There was no cursing, there was no name calling, there were no threats, and most assuredly, there was no harassment.
Since then I haven't signed onto Siren Server nor do I plan to so please don't make assumptions.

It is disheartening that you are alright playing with people of low morals but there isn't much I can do about it.

As I mentioned before, this is a player issue. It should be handled by players. GMs do not make the FFXIV community, we do.
Nevertheless, I did make a GM report, I did get contacted by a GM, I don't know what they will or won't do.

I sincerely hope that you and your FC never have to be faced with my situation.
It is a very disheartening situation and as a fellow FC lead, I felt it necessary to do what I could to stand up for my FC and its members.

It's odd why someone would steal an entire FC chest and jump to a casual-minded server and an FC without notoriety.

@OP: your theif is an idiot and will probably never accomplish anything outside a nexus. Be happy knowing that.

That is not what I was told of the situation. I was told you got quite upset when he did not want to view your proof, and demanded we punish her ourselves. I was told that you actually seemed to be getting quite upset with him when he said he would not.

I really can understand your frustrations here, but I believe everyone should be given the chance to earn trust. As I said, nothing she has done in the guild so far has given me a reason not to trust her. Nor has she done anything remarkable so she remains at rank 1.

My advice to you would be to activate the chest access ranks within your guild so that another incident can not happen.
