Allagan help

I'm not a new player, but I seem to be prohibited from being able to post in any other forum discussion (even Community) because I've reached my daily limit (I've only ever posted once) or my character not being a high enough level (Level 50 IS the cap, right? Have that in two classes.)

ANYWAY...

This whole Allagan embargo we have going on here where we cannot earn any Tomestones of Mythology, nor trade them... how am I supposed to get them to give into for my Atma books?! I just have to wait until the patch comes out... whenever that is? I cannot even purchase one book, I had no idea they were going to put a halt on Tomestone gathering.

Anyone else feeling this? Any kind of workaround... advice... ?

A what? You can still get myth tomes. Sounds like something is broken somewhere.

Are you talking about the changes with patch 2.4? When they get rid of myth tomes, they'll take everything you buy with myth now and make it available in some other way. Atma books will probably be bought with soldiery, which will no longer have a weekly cap (though it could be something else).

It's exactly the same as when they went from philo/myth to myth/sol. There's nothing to panic about. Some things will probably end up being a little easier to get, some a little harder. And then everything will probably get a little easier with each patch afterward.

It's Tomestones of Philosophy that are going away completely. They already in a previous patch were made useless and tradeable for their replacement, Tomestones of Mythology. In the next patch they'll be eliminated (so you need to trade any leftovers for Myth before then).

Myth are the next to be made useless and tradeable for their replacement, Tomestones of Soldiery. Essentially the same thing will happen there. Whatever used to be bought with Myth will instead be bought with Soldiery and your remaining Myth can be turned into Soldiery. And the new stuff to be released at that time will be bought with some new currency. So we've gone from Philosophy & Mythology, to Mythology & Soldiery (with Philosophy as a leftover just to trade for Myth), to Soldiery and something new (with Mythology as a leftover just to trade for Soldiery).

It's a repeating pattern designed to ensure that each major patch's new gear is only available with its new content, by releasing a new currency type each time for the new gear. There's always a new currency for the newly added gear, the second newest currency for previous gear, (with the third newest currency becoming obsolete and replaced with the second newest currency).
