As a returning player this guide was awesome as a refresher and it definitely taught me a lot. Keep up the good work.

Not very concerned about it. I've been using i70 Gryphonskin in 2nd Coil long before Ruby/Topaz came out and been fine. i90 melded is going to still beat most combinations of i130 in terms of total main stats provided for a very long time. Especially considering left-side purchases should be prioritized for progression anyways. So looking at the 2.4 patch update, there are NO new GSM accessories, and the new accessories are going to be 120-130 item level. So if they have +28 (the combined Str/Vit of ruby accessories) of Vit or Str, the I90's accessories may be close to becomming outdated till new GSM accessories arrive.
Ex.
i70 Darklight Choker - 10 Vit
i80 Choker of Divine War - 13 Vit
i90 Hero's Neck of Fending - 15 Vit
i100 Weathered Noct Chocker - 18 vit
i110 Noct Choker - 21 Vit
i120 Ironworks Choker - 24-25 vit?
i130 Augmented Ironworks - 27-28 vit?
Though fair to say we are all a long way from being capped in these.

If you can, that would be wonderful. even just releasing the script would be great. I tried watching it last night, but the background music was a bit too overpowering, and I only understood about every fourth word.

Thanks for this guide and the warrior guide.
I didn't do the math here but I hope this will not be the case. Not very concerned about it. I am fine with a fully melded ilvl90 item being on par or slightly better than ivlv110 drop.
However it should not be better than a ilvl130 drop.
I am not saying you are wrong, but I dislike the idea of a crafted item being better than a raid drop especially when there is a big different in ilvl.
This is just my opinion in MMOs.

The simple truth is that the i90 melded is giving more main stats than the i110 acc drops.I didn't do the math here but I hope this will not be the case.

Numberdump
i70 Gryphonskin: 9 STR, 10 VIT
-Set: 45 STR, 50 VIT (95 attribute points)
i90 VIT: 15 VIT
-Set: 75 VIT
i90 STR: 13 STR
-Set: 65 STR
---
i90 Ruby (or Topaz, whatever): 13 STR, 15 VIT
-Set: 65 STR, 75 VIT (140 attribute points)
i110 VIT: 21 VIT
-Set: 105 VIT
i110 STR: 18 STR
-Set: 90 STR
---
From this we can draw conclusions that i130 VIT and STR will be probably 27-28 VIT and 24-25. We'll use the high numbers for presumed behind-the-scenes rounding up.
i130 VIT: 28 VIT
-Set: 140 VIT
i130 STR: 25 STR
-Set: 125 STR
---
Now as I said earlier, people have done T9 with Gryphonskin accs long before Ruby/Topaz was a thing and long before full i110 right-side was even close to possible, and some have still done it long after. There's no real reason you can't do the same with Ruby accs, ESPECIALLY for progression. It lets you upgrade the left-side gear first and maybe never have to upgrade the right side.
It's not clear-cut best. We won't know that for sure until people get into Turn 13 and learn how much VIT you need to survive and how much you can shed. If T9 is any indication, Ruby should be more than plenty.

I'm actually leveling goldsmithing so that I can experiment with different stat weights on different accessories. After watching this guide I have to agree with the way xenosys describes secondary stats. Parry really isn't a good mitigation stat for the exact reasons he says I've been putting off getting my novus because I just couldn't decide on what to do with it. So for me determination seems best but then again I don't know I'm gonna make some ruby with mostly det then some with mostly crit just to see the difference in performance.

Love the guides! Both for PLD and WAR.
Got me stoked on Tanking in this game! gonna beast it up!
Just wish I had the resources to afford melded gear like that, though.
