Currently I am a blm so I have experienced many of the fights in question, so I know much of the mechanics.
I am mainly doing this to help out with healers wanting to change to dps for fights every now and then, you know give back to them for always being there.

But it is looking like what I thought and it is going to basically come down to a trial by fire.

    Alright thanks for the tips.

And sadly, when a healer stumbles it often wipes the party, and even if someone else stumbles, it's not uncommon for a healer to take the blame anyway. :S

That said, I wouldn't write it off completely. What I suggested may have been a bit overboard... if it's just to fill in sometimes and you have a reliable second healer in the party, it's not too bad. Give it a shot. If it comes intuitively, great. If you have a hard time and don't seem to improve after a few fights... then at least you can say you gave it a shot. In any case, good luck!

(Random misc tip: for any fights, from the hardest to the easiest, try not to have HoTs--regen and medica II basically--ticking when an add or wave spawns.)

No thank you for the advice it has been helpful.
Was just hoping there might be more information then what I was able to find.
I have been putting what you all said it practice healed a couple random here and there, still struggling with speed runs though.
Thanks again and I do make sure not to have regen up between adds and pulls.

    1. Use HOTs only in boss fights or when you know the HOT will expire before the fight ends and new mobs will be pulled. If mobs get pulled while your HOTs are up, you will get aggro.

    2. Stoneskin is great, use it liberally whenever possible. Same with Shroud. I would like to say that Shroud claims that it reduces emnity, I have never seen this actually be true so don't expect it to shed aggro.

    3. Your best DPS is DOTs. I mean, dropping a quick Aero helps a little, Virus helps a little. But unless you know you're not gonna need to heal, it's really not worth risking. Once you're comfortable and you're confident your team is good for a little while, practice your stance dancing and dropping some DPS.

    4. Communicate! I PUG everything pretty much so I've been in a lot of rag-tag groups and just letting people know what you need from them and what you're gonna do will make a world of difference, especially when you've got a 2nd healer to coordinate with.

Shroud does shed aggro but in some situations it doesn't help like if something is attacking you unless a tank is actively provoking as you use it. It's good for certain situations though like when adds pop on certain bosses and i have regens up i can reduce my threat after they appear and make it easier for them to be peeled off me. That said it's only good for an aggro drop in a few situations so mostly just use it for mana regen.

Shroud of Saints does reduce enmity, actually. But common misconception: It does not reduce any enmity being build while it's in effect!

Shroud of Saints cuts your enmity in half that you have build up to the point you use it. Once used, it grants you up to 1090 MP as long as the duration lasts (only way to get any less is to be capped on MP or manually canceled)

Step one: Buy Fantasia. Step two: Fantasia to Lalafell. Step three: Win because thats what Lalas do.
