Oh yea, and farm shiva for quick wep thats almost better if not better than the HA weps.Yep no point in spending sol now so might as well stock up and just wait for patch so u can gear up NIN in a day.
Farm 12 atma
Save sol so you can get most parts
Stock up on sands and oils etc
And go on a shopping spree once it drops.
Then you grind new tomes and bam gear better than coil 2nd. And all it took was little to like no effort as you got ST and hunts to thank.
Then you can go shout in mor / go in PF and be like ilvl100+ NIN looking for coil 3rd group.
Darklight only got turned into what it was originally during 1.x, dungeon drop. At least the dropate is higher than it was during 1.xYou must have missed the memo...
We used to have this little thing called Philosophy tomes back in the day. Funny story really... what happened was all the then 'good' gear became nearly impossible to obtain, along with various other items, such as crafting mats and so on.
To equip a job into full myth gear (accessories not counted) you only need to do 4-5 daily hunts and 1 weekly hunt. The exchange rate for then 'top' currency was paltry, so we didn't even get much out of stockpiling our old philo tomes to convert over. In their infinite wisdom, expect most of the 'AF2' drops to be moved to RNG drops in dungeons.
Point is, we've been down this road before. And it wasn't much fun back then either.

I won't complain about them removing Myth - but I was hoping to see something a bit more in-depth with an engaging system for reward conveyance; something more than just a vendor & currency exchange.
The problem I'm starting to have with this game is the shallow and blatant "same"-ness the permeates the updates - I'd like to see them add some quests that give worthwhile reward (gear/accessories), and make the reward structure a little more dynamic.
They've got Leves, Quests, Treasure Chests, and Faction Leves - why aren't those systems being expanded on with higher difficulties and relevant incentives?
edit: Can we have Skirmish back yet?

No words for how silly all this currency change is. Really, why you put currencies in game just to remove them later and just generate an ugly interface with no true value at all cause everything is but a rename of the "monies".
Philosophy should have never be removed, instead, should have changed sources and function, the same for Mythology now, and Allagan tomestones should have a new and diferent interface that worked as an "album" for collecting tomestones.
"Players will no longer be able exchange Allagan tomestones of mythology for items." ©
"Although Allagan tomestones of mythology will not be removed..." © ... players can still hold them but will be unable to use. I don't see any difference with removed philosophy.
I'm not heated but it's pointless... they're changing currency but keeping the same system/cap, only with different names. They should've just moved sold items to myth, myth to whatever they'll decide and new items to soldiery. No need to add a new currency.
They mean you can still exchange myth for sold, just like you can exchange philo for myth right now. When 2.4 comes out, you won't be able to exchange philo for myth because philo will be totally removed from the game. If they removed myth the same way, you wouldn't have the chance to convert myth to sold, which is the reason why philo stayed around for so long on your currency tab.

That's exactly what they're doing though. They're looking at how much Myth you have and giving you that much Philo. Then, they're looking at how much Sold you have, and setting your myth to that value, and completely clearing Sold. Then, they're removing the myth items from the vendors, but switching all items that take Sold to take Myth instead.
That's what you're talking about, right? Well, they're doing exactly that. However, when they're done, they're renaming philo tomes "Mythology," myth tomes "Soldiery," and sold tomes to some new word. That doesn't somehow mean there's a new currency. They just changed some names around and moved some items around.

I get that. Hence why even renaming things at all... they can't expect us to think it's new, or refreshing?
