Why (my) retainers r so lazy?

It's been like a very long time since I use their services, And it filled me with joy when they can finally be more useful than just keeping our stuff. But after some time, this has became a question on it's own.

Why every time I send them to 18 hours venture, they only bring back like very small percentage of effort amount I can do in 18 hours?

For example, my miner keeps bringing me like 3 darksteel ores / gold ores each time. Now, in 18 hours, there should be 18 unyield node pops. And each farm I did on every pop will get me maximum (or should I say general acquirement) of 18 ores. Times that to 18 hours and you get 324 ores you can get. That's like more than 100 times than my retainers brings back to me.

And let's not speak of my DoW/DoM retainer which only brings (useless) 3 coeurl meat/skin. In 18 hours straight, I bet I can farm like thousands of it. lol

The venture coins are not quite cheap either. I must slave away myself farming GC seals, hunt seals, or do beastmen dailies to get them in order to pay retainers for their services.

And worse of all, they still hasn't bring me those minions in which their rarity becoming more obnoxious.

So... here's a question: are they still worth to pay for service? I believe I can earn way more without using their services, excluding those rarity stuff they "rarely" would bring which may or may not important to some people.

What do you think? Think retainers can and should bring more than our own effort, no? lol

They probably mine for like five minutes then spend the rest of the time helping my retainers carry the roof they just "found".

the last time I complain to my retainer and give them some slaps, they bring back Raging Vortex Couch 1h after

You uh, can also get stacks of ventures from Boarskin and Piesteskin treasure maps.

I gather up a map every day and do the Ixali quests everyday. The only reason my ventures have started decreasing is because I've been sending my to i82 retainers on quick ventures in order to get the new dyes. Though Normally I hover around 70-80+ ventures in my inventory, moreso when I get a chunk from maps.

Ventures are super easy to obtain and with little effort.

Yes, I forgot to mention that in 1st post. That being said, the chance getting venture coins from that also slim too. I always do daily maps and it's like 1 out of 100 getting those coins. Maybe even more... lol

And no, this is not about how easy to get those, because it is also way easier to earn more ores for capped levels. Different case if you were lower levels. But... retainer level can only go as high as our main. So yeah, in term of investment, venture coins are more expensive, though it won't cost you arm and legs. lol

I don't have problem with them slacking off. I only have problem when both my Botanist retainer and Miner retainer brought back a fish, one each.
