What would you do for 1 or 2 venture coins?

Do quick exploration. I"ve gotten 4 pots of the new dyes and a Craftsman Command IV. They made me around 750k in the last few daysIt's been like a very long time since I use their services, And it filled me with joy when they can finally be more useful than just keeping our stuff. But after some time, this has became a question on it's own.
Why every time I send them to 18 hours venture, they only bring back like very small percentage of effort amount I can do in 18 hours?
And let's not speak of my DoW/DoM retainer which only brings (useless) 3 coeurl meat/skin. In 18 hours straight, I bet I can farm like thousands of it. lol
The venture coins are not quite cheap either. I must slave away myself farming GC seals, hunt seals, or do beastmen dailies to get them in order to pay retainers for their services.
What do you think? Think retainers can and should bring more than our own effort, no? lol
You're just very lucky my friend.
When Ixali beast dailies released, I got over-abundance of coins again and start doing alot of quick ventures again. Lo and behold, more fish craps coming my way again. lol
After capped that beast rank, I stopped doing this and go back doing 18 hours again.
That's besides the point tho. This thread is more about the 18 hour ventures, not about the quick ventures, hence why I put "lazy" on my title. I don't mind quick ventures since it's 1 hour only task (albeit bringing me crap most of time). But here, I'm talking about the effort retainers give on 18 hour task which can be accomplished in just 1 hour (or even less) when I do it myself.
all i get is furniture and fish/clams....lol
(got a moogle weapon 2 days ago tho :P)
The need to remove house roof, door, window, and fish drops from 18 hour ventures entirely. It's just dumb. At most you make/buy a couple of each once or twice for the entire life of your FC/personal house. There is zero demand for these items, they just get vendored for next to nothing at NPCs. I think I'd almost rather the retainer say "Sorry, didn't find anything... should I go back out again?"
You can desynth malm kelp if you want, or any of those housing items if they are not worth selling on the MB. It is an alternative to vendoring. So something is better than nothing, Get some desynth points if you must instead of 1 or 2 gil.
I got a Kingly Whisker from mine the other week and they don't even have good gear. xD I think you just have to keep sending them out and hope for the best.
Probably for the same reason you are too lazy to type "Are"
One of my retainers pretty much furnished my FC's entire house (with exception to one or two things) and my private room.
I'm convinced he just goes out, steals from some other FC's house and brings it back - then acts like he's hot shit (doesn't help that that's the personality I gave him).
He's brought me a wall, once. o_O
I see your point, however I don't think it could take any less time to move the roof my retainer "found" in Mist back to The Goblet, she doesn't even have her choco license. The need to remove house roof, door, window, and fish drops from 18 hour ventures entirely. I agree though at times the "gifts" we get are like wtf. But at times...rather nice. I got a seating module yesterday, I had forgotten to send my other retainer out. Maybe that's the key, one at a time...lol
