New copy of the game with old service account

Currently I possess the digital standard edition.

I heard about the GOTY edition and I thought that maybe I should buy it? The 90 days access and other goodies are tempting.

Will I be able to use my current service account with the new game copy product key and have the 90 days of play period?

You can if it's a different version, like say the PS3 or PS4 version. The PC version will likely just create a new account.

I kind of want this too. I believe the free game time though screws up the veteran rewards due to it not counting. Hope they fix it so anything past the 30 days actually counts or it's going to start adding up to 5 months of not counted time. 1.0 initial 30 days. 2.0 PC+PS3 copies (2 months) + PC GOTY Edition (3 months).

Yes, you will be able to use your current service account with the new game.

However, the 90 days is split into a 30-day free game time that comes with new accounts as well as a 60-day time card.

That being said, you will only get 60 days free with this, not the full 90 that a new account would get.

How it reads to me is you get the good ol' 30 day trial (new account only like Hakuro pointed out) and a paid game card of 60 days. That 60 days would make more sense to count towards veteran than not. Though I can't say for sure.. lol

I don't understand why you say that they will be able to use the current service account for the GOTY edition but the 30-day trial won't work.
If your current service account is a PC account, you won't be able to use the code of the GOTY edition on it, it will create a new PC account as stated above.
Otherwise, your current account service is PS3 or PS4, then you will be able to add the code on this account. Your account will now let you play on PC and 30 days will be added to your subscription time.
