Actually thats quite false. I played ffxi for seven years, and had seven, seventy fives all legit. (Legit: No astral burns) I solo'd BLM 1-75 BST 1-75 BLU (mostly)1-70 and SMN. Granted it took me longer, but I did. After ffxi introduced zerg parties (I hate/dislike games with this motto) and nubs getting 75 in less then a week and having no idea how to play due to abusing a broken mechanic (much like ffxiv's old leve's) I quit. Abysea/Astral Burns imo were ffxi's downfall. Hard!

On Topic, I love small group grinding parties. Leves and Behest although a option and should remain that way, are terribly boring.

ff11 solo was NOT the best way to rank up. that is a fact. You had one MAB two jobs you could solo level out of 24 jobs. i played for 6 years and have 7 jobs on 75 and i leveled them all (cept BLM) in a party just like everyone esle.

The point is in FF14 you can rank up almost hassle free with leves and behests solo. there were not many ways to get xp in ff11 solo. In would take 15 times longer were as in FF14 solo is much better. this is the point. Not saying you can not do it but its stupid to do it when that game Asea and parties was the MAIN why to level no way around it.

lol someone did not play FF11 lol. but yea behests and leves are for solo play. FF11 main problem was if you were a job no one wanted you could not rank up because no one would invite you. And the only way to rank up was grind parties in FF11 Now with behest and leves at least you can rank up pretty fast is you are a loljob or if you can not find a party.

It is also if you do not have much time. options are key to great game so we must keep options alive. limits and restrictions are not fun. i hope more people understand this.

You are correct. I bought FF11 and play it for a few days and stopped. I had my first kid around that time. I may have liked it if I stuck with it but RL is like that sometimes.

@DNO I have spent the last 3 days trying to do a behest because when I stopped playing they were amazing sp. I eventually gave up and tried one solo at bloodshore. Didn't die and got like 1.5k sp I think. And THEN I was locked out of it for a hour. Just not worth the time but they are quickly changing it in 1.18a so we'll see. Unless it gives like 10-15k sp I can't see how it could compete with grinding on monsters 8-10 levels above you.

Leves and Behests are not supposed to compete with grind parties... that was what the problem was BEFORE 1.18.

You are supposed to be able to do those kinds of things when you don't have the time to fuss around with setting up a party and grinding for a few hours.

Last night I did my first party. It was great. We farmed some raptors and in a matter of maybe 2 - 2.5 hours I went from barely 32 to half way through 33. My question to everyone is why even bother with levees, behests, or solo grinding. I don't think I will ever solo again. I think I have seen the light. No idea why I tried to play solo for so long.

Yea I'm very interested in the behest changes. Last night was the first time I tried finding a group for grinding and it only took 15 minutes. Not sure if it will be that way every night so behests may become a decent alternative. Just gotten back into the game and trying to figure everything out again lol.

I'm the only one that think 32 to 33.5 in 2-2.5 hours is excessive?

Pretty much perfect.

Soloing should be 3-4h, partying half that. Otherwise there's no point.

Considering that's around... 70k SP or so, that sounds about right.

Levelling is at a much better pace now than it used to be.
