I don't quite understand what exactly the problem is you're experiencing Pawkeshup?

When I moved from Canada to the US, I wanted to continue playing FFXIV, and perhaps even return to FFXI for a bit. Today, I found that would not happen. Sadly, when they attempt to charge my card next, my address and country won't match up. And why?
Well, there really is no reason why.
That is what you say, but I'm not quite clear what you meant to say there. How do your address and country not match up? Does the address on your credit card not match the address on your square enix account? If so, then why not simply change the square enix account to match your credit card info.

You can do so through the mog station > square enix account settings > update account information > update detailed information.

I believe the changes you make in your square enix account management there even apply to your FF XI game account.

Or is there something completely different forming the problem?

@KimiKryo: Honestly I didn't read the email, but the option still exists to buy Crysta on the site, albeit with credit cards in the same fashion as creating a subscription. This just illustrates what I mean. They change and remove options, and if they decide that these cards are no longer valid, they will do the same. Then where does that leave me?

And to you and Fornix, I can change the address, sure, but the country cannot be changed. I can change my street address, but since US uses postal codes, and the Province is a drop-down not a text field, I could not even fudge my new address. That's why I contacted them initially. I will include the screenshots of the address change screen and account confirmation (with my info blacked out). As you can see, there is no where to change the country or region of the account.

The ULTIMATEPAY method for crysta is gone. You can still purchase Crysta with other payment methods...

You can change your address but the Country is frozen. This creates a secondary problem as well since you get a box for ZIP code instead of Postal Code or vice versa depending on your Country.

That's a weird restriction. :/ People move, sometimes out of country... I can't understand why an international game has a problem with this. I'm sorry you've encountered this, Pawkeshup, and I wish you the best of luck!

Ah, I see what you mean now Pawkeshup. You could call with your credit card provider to see if the address mismatch is a restriction on their end which may cause this to fail as well, and see if there's a solution around it with them.

As for the security token point you brought up. In the process of ordering a security token through the square enix account management system you can send it to any address desired when following through the order steps. I'm not completely sure how it would be in case of a replacement token. But I would think you'd simply need to order a new one for that, and follow the same ordering procedure.

I'm living in Japan and my account is still bound to Canada as well.
I got the exact same reply as you. It's also getting more and more frustrating to pay for the game as I can't even use time cards...

The clock is ticking SE, allow us to change our location. I know, it's quite inconceivable to allow address change in 2014, but I have faith that you can pull off this technological miracle.
(Their database must be so archaic that it's powered with coal, that's why it's hardcoded.)

Isn't that the support haven't understand that you want is just make themselves change the information? Maybe they answer that way to you, thinking you want be able to change that data yourself. That is reasonable, sure, bus as long as site won't allows it, yet cannot be done.

Try contact support again and ask them "Hello, I moved cron Canada to US, please can you update my country and region accordly, as long as I cannot do that myself ?"

Perhaps from SE's point of view the expenditure required to alter their systems to allow country changes while still preventing accounts being stolen from abroad does not justify the increased revenue from the small percentage of players who emigrate to foreign countries on a permanent basis?

I'm not saying it's a good reason, but from a solely financial point of view it might make sense.
