First, lets see which quality we will get...
I hope the cheap price will not result in network issues!

Then don't buy it, and wait to find out the details on reddit or something.
Is it a cash grab? Obviously. They didn't have to do anything at all and everyone that didn't make it to the fanfest would have to sit in the dark and wait for news from the attendees. In past conventions you didn't even have a free stream at all. Now you have a free stream, and if you want that extra stuff you have a pay stream with some extra goodies. It's more revenue from them and a way to allow their dedicated players to still get in on an in game goody and to see a small part of what they missed since there weren't any tickets left to the show.
You should be so lucky to have a stream at all. People are paying a lot of money to be there and all you have to do is drop 20 to watch all the important stuff. Deal with it. No one here is a victim. Watch the free stream if it's such a big deal to you.

Stating the opinion that this is overpriced is not "stressing over 20 dollars." I don't think this is worth the price, so I am simply not going to purchase it. One of the easiest decisions I've ever made. No stress involved here!
If people are "stressing" or upset about it (I don't think they really are), it could be because this purchase sets a bad precedent. Too many games want to have their cake and eat it too: charging a retail price plus subscription to play, but also offering exclusive items and perks gated behind microtransactions (though there is nothing "micro" about $20, it's even more than a month's sub). Today it's $20 for a moogle outfit and an HD setting on some video. Tomorrow, who knows what else will be locked behind a pay wall. They will continue to test the waters and see what they can get away with. As customers, it is our privilege to express our opinion that we are not interested in game information and items being restricted unless we pay more on top of the regular subscription cost.
In-game costumes for a subscription-based MMORPG usually do not cost money at all. We don't typically pay to view game trailers, previews, and other promotional videos either.
Finding an even bigger rip-off does not make this one "cheap."
Again, people do not seem to get it -- being unimpressed at the $20 price tag for such little value does not equate to not having the money. Just because someone can theoretically afford something does not make it a good purchase.
And like you said, all the info will be leaked almost immediately -- so that just makes this purchase all the more pointless.
Well, of course it is money grabbing. It's one thing to offer an exclusive in-game costume as an incentive for dedicated fans who choose to come to their event. It's quite another to just sell costumes and promotional information for cash.
I am confused as to why I am seeing so many posts justifying whether or not they are going to buy it.
A. Buy it
B Don't Buy it
(Circle one) (No note writing on the side)
Costumers debating on what the price for a product should be... or what it should be really called: I'd love to buy it but can't afford it.
Like it's been said here: A) If you feel it's too expensive or don't have the money, don't buy it. If many people think like you and skip on purchasing they'll feel it and will make them reassess their pricing for their next event. B) Buy it and enjoy your stream.
20 dollars for a load of hours of information and stuff about the product you like is a steal compared to the shitty movies that Hollywood is spitting out nowadays that you pay 15 dollars for 1:30hrs, for example.
uhhh..uhhhh..... I... I CHOOSE>...... *tears paper and runs away* DONT MAKE ME CHOOOOSSSEEE ;A;
to go with the topic as i said before $20 is a fraction of the cost of it and your getting archived footage as well as the same reveals as attendants if you don't think its worth it reddit will spam itself with all the reveals anyway.
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
I spent the last four months (or round about) shelling out money to go to fanfest, and just found out I could have had the same experience for 1/100th of the price. Who should really be complaining?

This is opinion, not fact. I find it amazing value. $20.00 for 2 days worth of constant entertainment? Hell, I'll make it a measly 40 and order in a couple pizzas and some wings from Pizza hut too. regardless if "it'll just be leaked anyways" or not, the value is watching the interviews, seeing the content itself, getting the costume. I value that, personally at far more than a paltry 20 bucks. I was honestly expecting it to have been 40-45 dollar price range, and had that much set aside for it.
This Fan Fest is for the fans. Making them pay for a stream that's for the fans of the game just doesn't sit well with me. Yes in Las Vegas, there should be a charge for all the " Actual Entertainment" SE is Providing the attendees. Everyone that is not attending the actual event , are just watching it.. not consuming any of entertainment physically at Las Vegas. All we are doing is watching. I don't know, like one person said before "Value of something is different from person to person". So if you feel 20 bucks is justified then awesome. I just don't see how a company can charge people at home watching something that is made for the fans.
That is how I personally feel.
