2.4 Myth (Sol) Materials? Potential gil making?

Since Myth is being eradicated and Sol will probably be uncapped, what will happen to Myth Materials? Will they become Sol materials? If they do, that would mean their value would skyrocket unless they buff Hunts further with Sol drops increased.

I'm thinking of buying numerous Petrified Logs, Raziqsands and Emery now so that when 2.4 comes out and if I am correct, I should make an enormous profit. Petrified Logs used to sell for 200-300k. Now they sell for 15k. I could buy 300k worth and make over 2 mil...

They will more than likely be even easier to get than they are now since they'll probably move to the Soldiery vendor who will sell them at a fraction of the marks previously required. Also note that if they do indeed phase out Mythology tomes that Soldiery tomes in turn will become the "new" Mythology which means that they'll be a dime a dozen and be the more plentiful, meaning that anything that was previously gated off by the soldiery cap will now take a serious hit price wise on the market board due to their being a rise in supply and availability.

I would reckon though that since I'm pretty sure the new item level cap for 2.4 is 115, they won't be introducing a new currency just yet if at all. It all depends on whether or not 2.5 is actually a lengthy expansion and not just the pre-expansion hype patch.

Pretty optimistic view considering the philo>myth transition did not play out this way for philomats. They were obnoxious to get until the introduction of Ixal dailies.

If the I lvl cap for 2.4 was i115 then we would have horizontal progression ff14 has been vertical up to this point and with nexus being i115 it's safe to say I lvl cap will be above at least i125, most likely i130gear/i135wpn. Last time they moved the items to grand company seals, and made them dungeon drops, resulting in a substantal drop in price. I would expet the same thing.

They will become dungeon drops, and you can already get them with Ixali Oaknots, and they will likely add in another way to get them (not soldiery tomes)

They will not sell for 200-300k each, because the gear you make with them will be 40 levels below the top gear in the game, and only be used for glamour and spiritbonding.

    That.
And maybe they will make these items buyable with Company Seals (like Philo Materials) or Allied Seals (like myth gear already is).

They were only obnoxious to get because to continue as a crafter you needed 45 Sap, 90 Coke, 45 cock ore, 45 potash, 45 animal fat, and whatever alch/cooking took.

Even if they require 10 HQ whatevers for the next master book, that's still only 10 needed to make it, not nine times that amount.

Taking only Ixali dailies as a metric though, 9 oaknots will buy 18 philomats (2 synths). 7 oaknots will buy a single mythmat (1 synth).

New sol matts will probs be priced around 50-100k due to ppl being geared up already and have plenty of myth to spend * if they r priced at 500 sol.
Unlike when the sol tome patched went live and ppl had 0 sol tomes and had to pick the choice of early tome matts selling = get rich or gear up for coil etc.
But u better buy a lottttttttt of them myth matts as they will be worth a fortune when 2.4 patch drops as crafters will need them to further their progress.
80% sure it'll go like this lol

Philo mats stabilized nicely after the removal of philo tomes, even with the artisan book grind. It was the necessity of using utterly vast quantities of them to level desynth that sent their prices sky high again and have kept them high since. The prices have dropped some thanks to Ixali dailies, but if it wasn't for desynth, most philo mats would probably be selling for less than 1k each right now.

Myth mats in 2.4? Who knows. I haven't heard anything about scrapping myth entirely, and quite frankly I don't see it happening with how useful myth tomes still are right now. Even if they did scrap the tomes, myth mats and crafted i90 gear are all pretty useless right now, and there isn't much demand for myth mats except for random glamours. Even if the next master books requires 10 hq crafted myth mats (pretty likely, actually), it won't send the prices through the roof as long as they add the mats to gc/allied seals. Also, the actual pool of crafters that will be going for Supra+ is considerably smaller than the ones that went for Artisan way back when, so the demand hopefully won't be as huge as before if that is what is required for the next step.
