Hey guys, how does spiritbonding work while you're a DoL?

Hey guys,

Botanist here. I grabbed i47 crafting and gathering accessories to see if I could spiritbond them while I farmed some crystals/shards. Well they DID bind to me, so I figured that means they are able to spiritbond in that area.

But even after farming a bunch of crystals the spiritbonding of the accessories stay at 1%. Will they not go up any higher? Would I need accessories of lower item level?

I guess my real question is, what factors come into play when spiritbonding in DoL turf.

If you start gathering lv 45 / 50 / unspoiled nodes it will spiritbond faster.

Crystal nodes are level 25 / 30 iirc so it would take an eternity to spiritbind lv47 gear on these nodes.

You can also equip this gear to a DoW/DoM and kill mobs around lv 45/50. This should be the fastest way to spiritbind it.

HQ items spiribind faster. Each materia attached to the item also makes it spiritbind faster. But i think you should save good gathering materia for you lv55 gear set so it's not worth to attach materia unless its crappy materia that sells for 500 gil or less.

I have never SBed as a DoL so this is mostly theory.

Any item you are wearing will SB to 1% the instant you do anything with it. You could take i110 gear and go kill a lvl 1 bunny and it will go to 1%.

With the recent changes you need to be within ~10 levels when SBing as a DoW/DoM. Going off that I would say that shards would bond up to maybe i15 gear and Crystals would bond maybe i40 gear. That said it is much easier to just equip the DoL/DoH gear as a DoW/DoM and SB that way.

SBing with DoL is very very slow. You'd be way better off putting DoL/H gear on a DoW/M. I'm talking at least 500% faster. As with all bonding, don't fight/gather/craft things more than 5 levels below the ilvl of the gear you want to SB. For optimal rates, make sure the gear is HQ, meld it with a cheap materia, and then find some mobs 5 levels above the gear you're trying to SB.

SB rate is determined by the item, not the node. If you are mining level 1 shards at a level 50 node wearing level 50 gear, you're not going to SB at all.

I really wish DoL spiritbinding wasn't so terrible. DoH still has an ok rate, but even gathering higher level items it takes forever as DoL.
