Assuming there is a final battle of 2.0, I really do hope the music is on this level

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAee...iRmkChG8aeGZYD.

This is from the Highly antipated game called Bayonetta 2 and the reviews are off the charts. That is not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about epicness of the final boss of 2.0 before the expansion. Music is very important, it sets the tone of the whole fight and it really gets you pumping for the fight itself before it even begins.

FFXIV's music is awesome nothing less than great! However, the final boss music is something that is really important and above all else needs to be epic. I just hope they continue to make epic final boss music. I know you can do it Soken!

I think we'll be satisfied with the music for any final boss fight of 2.0. Ultima normal and HM, Titan, Levi, Ramuh all have pretty epic music in my opinion. I'm looking forward to Shiva's

    FFXIV music was incredibly epic.

Then I had to listen to each track about 100-200 times on a continuous loop to defeat bosses.

    Now they've lost the magic.

The Maker's Ruin (Ultima fight 1) still is amazing to me. I'd personally love that to be for more fights in the game, but I'm biased when it comes to its awesome.

A final battle for 2.0 would be fascinating to speculate about. All I can think of for a suitable boss fight would be to pull something akin to the Eluria Tower scenario a la Star Ocean: Second Story.

...and that would involve traversing through a section of the "Final Dungeon" of the entire game and fight against Lahabrea, except instead of Lahabrea trying to simply defeat you, he's stalling for time as he manages to summon the elder primal Mateus. Then, before Mateus can wipe out the party with Frostwave, Hydaelyn teleports the party out of the dungeon to fight another day.

I would say something about Lahabrea summoning Zodiark, but in FFXII lore, Lahabrea and Mateus are linked together, and without any real method of sealing Zodiark away now that Louisoix is "gone", Either the twins would attempt to seal Zodiark away or it would be the power of Mateus that the party would have to face prior to 3.0.

Also, with Mateus being the "star", it would give a good opportunity for a pair of twisted FFXIV remix of these Final Fantasy II songs to play. The first for the dungeon and the second for the fight: Castle Pandemonium, Battle Scene 2

Maker's Ruin? That is but a prelude to the sublime perfection of Ultima Arma, the final battle theme for the Seventh Umbral storyline.

Just, everything about that song came together perfectly. Pacing, lyrics, composition, flow, layering. What got to me the most: The wordless choral vocals as the rapid three-note riff used throughout, in such tones that it was difficult to tell if what you were hearing was a musical instrument or sounds produced by a human voice. Blended together with the orchestra, choir, and tribal drums (also unexpected, and gave it a punch that orchestral percussion would have lacked), it's going down as one of my favorite video game musical pieces of all time (joining, for the record, Dancing Mad from FF6 and Godsibb from Xenosaga 3).

Masayoshi Soken is at the reigns here, folks. Never fear that he will deliver.

I got tired of that song fast, mostly because DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH really gets annoying fast.

The problem with a lot of Soken's stuff is that unlike Kumi Tanioka, Mizuta and Uematsu he does only very short loops without long interseting melodies like the rest of the composers.

Many of the zone music is closer to an ambient track like Coerthas town and Thanalan drums rather than something that has a "hummable" melody.
Any of the Uematsu melodies are instantly recognizeable on piano or pretty much any instrument but Soken just can't do that.
Ultima fight for example has an amazing loop but the rest of the song is just missing.

There wasn't anything special about that track.
