This. Which is a major flaw in the way this game allows for people to queue up or join friends in an in-progress run. Not only for ST, but for any type of dungeon. If they have a role lacking, they cannot directly invite you. A gamble of getting in is joining using the in-progress queue. However, the in-progress queue pools you up not just on actual in-progress runs, but also in the overall pool.

Trying to join an in-progress run as a tank, and hopefully ending up in the correct one, usually comes down to first turning down 10 - 20 or so fresh runs.

Therefore simply locking out after a few turndowns of pops also isn't a great solution on itself. If SE would do that, they should at the same time also come with the possibility for players to invite friends directly into an ongoing dungeon group.

I agree that it is most likely lazy players fishing for a partially completed run, which I find funny since it most likely takes longer to find one than the maybe 15 minutes more that a full run would have taken.

I also support a penalty for withdrawing that would scale up depending on how many times a player has withdrawn within a specified time. First time 1 minute, second 5 minutes, third 15 min, fourth 30 minutes.

I am all for a penalty. At least 10 minutes. Everyone seems so concerned about not making it hard on people that have emergencies. If I have an emergency though I can tell you a 10 minute reque timer is probably the least of my concerns. If you have emergencies so frequently that this is an issue for you then you have the worst luck in the world or a very vroad view of emergencies.. If I have to eat a 10 minute timer for another reason (in a cutscene, etc) then no big deal it is just 10 minutes and worth it if it cuts down on the lazy ones searching for an instance in progress and impacting the other 23 people with constant withdrawl from queues that can go on for an hour.

I'm sure I remember a dev saying that the "people who fish for runs days are numbered". It may have been in Japanese because I can't find it. Anyone else remember that?
I do dream about the game from time to time, I sure hope I'm not confusing reality with a dream!
