It's funny how some people jump out to over defend and over justify something as simple as names, just because ARR can do nothing wrong.

Anyway, they used to have -ra -ga suffixes in 1.18 onwards before getting changed back for simplicity at least in the English client. It's one of the first things I hope UI mods address, whenever those are coming since it's been almost 2 years since they were promised and still nothing.

ARR does plenty wrong, it's dependent on perspective. Some people like ARR regardless of flaw and others don't, we're free to have opinions and different likes.

Because it is something as simple as names and both have been used in Final Fantasy as a series regardless of reasons then there shouldn't be a problem with leaving it as Fire II or Fire III unless changing the name will magically buff up our spells.

Plenty of things had small changes from 1.1x so it's not like this is the first nor is it entirely deal-breaking.
