He's been extreme the whole time.
Winxbloom61. Throughout the years the final fantasy has used several naming schemes for spells. They used one that was the original american naming scheme. Deal with it. This isn't going to change after people have been using the existing names for 1 year. If there reasoning was to prevent confusion then changing them now would only promote confusion. Guaranteeing that it will never ever ever happen. Enjoy.

I'm not sure if you're just very young, not a great listener/reader, or what exactly, but...
This statement has so little relevancy it's hilarious.
We had the -ra -ga spells in 1.0 at launch as an extremely annoying clickable button. Most everything was AoE'able.
Made for funny, frustrating times. The developers have consciously decided that, against your caps lock judgement, that it is more accessible to strangers to the series if they use the numerical nomenclature.
Still classic FF.
Still good.
Doesn't hurt your experience.
