Can we also rewrite the game's script to be shorthand?
Don't worry. They already renamed Defender to Defiance and War Cry to Infuriate. We English speakers won't understand that an ability can give you the Infuriated status unless it's called Infuriate.
I think the loc team overreaches on a lot of stuff. Did Invincible really need to be renamed to Hallowed Ground? Why did Circle of Doom get changed to Circle of Scorn? Stuff like this leads to more Acheron-style problems down the line.
I'm really not reading any of the responses.I'm sorry but you do realize the person you quoted is complaining about the response given not just the decision to keep the naming convention as I II III right? Every response you've given makes it seem like you aren't even reading the posts you're quoting or even the thread in general, you just seem to want to insult or incite arguments, that's really no way to go about being sociable you know.
-> Wait I just did - darn it all.
Nobody cares~
Let me add - I read their comment. Why does it need an option? You have macros where you can make up names for actions.
It's literally already there.
Hence; "are you blow-harding to blow hard" - because they are.
-> /slap Cynric
There you go - that why I said what I said now whine about it.

I expected this response from you of course. There's another half of their post which you originally quoted in your other post and ignored, to pretty much repeat the same thing you've said over most of the pages, glad to see you ignored it again to continue your pattern. The rest of your post I don't need to say much about it, as I expected it. Enjoy your day.

Cynric is right you know. You're just posting for a sake of an argument.
The way you posts things is just...bad. You're just leading yourself to ban land anyways lol.
Have fun with that. -Points at Yellow triangle;

I would approve of this kind of option, but wouldn't it cause some confusion to some extent? Since everyone has different preferences, how would people differenciate between Fire II and Fira, given that Fire III was named Fira because it is a single-target attack?
And I'm sure a lot of people would complain if the naming conventions were Fira (Fire II), Firaga (Fire III), and so forth. Since Fira would be an AoE and Firaga a single target, you'd get people who would be like, "yo se wai firaga no aoe laik fira? Fix plx"
Of course, you could reverse it, but then you'd get people who would argue, "like yo se why firaga dose tiny damage than fira fix pls"
The current naming convention is determined by the order you receive the spell. So I guess that doesn't overcomplicate things. They may need to completely rework the DoM classes if they were to change the current naming conventions. Other languages may have the -, -ra, -ga prefix, but according to their response, it is because it fits and makes sense in their respective language.

Like I said a few pages back. Do what FFXI did. Single target Fire, Fire II, Fire III. AoE Firaga, Firaga II, Firaga III etc. This way there is no confusion between jobs. BLM II means AoE except for Thunder II. WHM II is ST and III is AoE. By combining the two conventions you get greater clarity
An AoE is a different type of spell from a ST so a different name altogether actually makes sense. At least to me.
