Returned after a considerable break, advice on where to focus/start?

I've obviously started by reading the patch notes for 2.3 and 2.35, however with the plethora of changes and additions I'm still a bit overwhelmed about where to start. I've been gone since around the 2.2 mark.

Doesn't help that my entire linkshell, wait... free company on Ultros is pretty dead!

I'm assuming I should work on completing the dungeons I've yet to do/gear up as much more has become available compared to before when farming myth stones was the way to go. Looks like the first 5 turns of BC are now duty finder capable?

Anyway, this is sort of an open post hence being under general discussion, but if anyone wants to toss out what they feel is an important goal (and possibly FC invites on Ultros) feel free. Need to make new friends again >:/

    Thanks.

If Coil is not your thing, then the best way to progress is via hunts.

Care to add any details? While I can re-read those sections of the notes, the system wasn't something I even knew about before leaving before. How do I get started?

try to do the main scenario things first then you should be good

If you need a new FC, feel free to pst me in-game - We have rebuilt with more new players recently and have a great core group (ESPER is the FC Name...aka Order of the Espers).

    Good luck!!

There are weekly and daily hunts that reward you with seals. With these seals, you can purchase upgrades, sands of time, etc.

To speed up the acquisition of this currency, you would go out in the world and take down A rank hunts. These A rank hunts offer 20 seals. I would advice you to join a hunting link shell or party that focuses on taking down hunts. Also there are helpful gadgets that some players use to facilitate the discovery of these hunts. There are also S ranks which offer the highest reward, but they appear once every blue moon...

In about an entire full day, you can earn enough seals to get 'em sands of time, which can upgrade a weapons, armor, etc., to ilvl 110

Awesome, thanks. I just stumbled across the beginnings of this from the Grand Company I'm a part of. I'm still rocking my relic weapon, but at least that gives some direction to go!

For gearing up, you first focus should be capping Soldiery to get weathered gear, upgrade items to take them to 110 you can get from Syrcus tower, If your aim is coil then you'll need to base your acquisitions of gear with Sol around Accuracy. If not, then accuracy cap isn't a major issue. If main is MNK, then I would recomend aiming for Gloam chest then legs first. Get your sands from either hunts or Syrcus tower and upgrade, will take 2 weeks of Soldiery per though as they are 825 per.

But, 2,4 is pretty much around the corner, i'm guessing in 2-3 weeks ish. Where we will get a new Tomestone and chances are weekly cap for Sol will be removed as with Myth which will make it easier to "catch up".
