It could be because they are not going to go the Talent Tree Path, or a path that restricts players into a specific hole and instead chose a system thats still open but lets the player chose to filter themselves into a role but allows experimentation outside of norms.

I hope thats true... This game is already slowly being labeled as going through the WoW cloning process. SE best shot is enhancing the armory system and not giving it a WoW touch. they need to go the FFXI job/subjob system v2.0 route. Which this(or something similar) would accomplish. In FFXI you were pretty much stuck with one weapon and one subjob(maybe 2?) regardless of options you had. With this type of system it allows you to have those options and not be constrained(forced) to choose one.
