Sounds like a hassle to graft a system onto a broken system to make a broken system with more options.

There's probably hundreds of ways to make it more stable and faster to implement then sticking in the existing armory/skill system.

First thing I would do, is to audit every skills and cut the numbers in half, maybe more. Too many repeating and useless skills anyway.

Then we can organize them into a tree system, if people like that. throw in the old FF11 job change moogle if people like that instead of the weapon change. Then you can have skill customization based on requirements if people like that as well.

Too much mixing and matching for optimal builds. That was the problem that lead to the cure/shocks/best skill/ melee job dog piling in the first place.

You're going to get dog piling no matter how the game is sliced -- It's an MMO and everyone wants to be the most effective. BG will theory-craft the crap out of the game and come up with something that makes you 0.5% more effective in a fight, and everyone will take it as law for their jobs. It's just how many players react in an MMO environment and trying to push against that is just going to continue the running-in-place that has plagued the current system since launch.

^ this. You don't design a system because you're in fear that in the end people will resort to a cookie cutter/optimal. It's going to happen no matter what you do. There is absolutely no way around that. Also, this isn't something that is limited to just MMOs but its where it happens the most.

@ Yugon yeah I put that in the 3rd post. Either way could work, one just requires more grinding but its same thing in the end.
