What's the point of dyes............

IF I CAN'T DYE ANYTHING!!!!!! Gah, it's so frustrating to find a piece of armor I like the look of but can't change the color to one I like. There are some really nice dye colors but I can't use any of them. Are they ever going to allow us to dye all armor?

Though, unweathered is ugly (and was meant to be ugly, in the lore the sets got designed by Gerolt and it's the fact that he hate adventurers).
Almost everything crafted but lv1 skins re re-used skins from dungeon but with inferior textures :/
Augmented relic sets is a good exemple though, if you like the JSE style.

Anyway, agreeing with OP, every nice skins ingame re undyable sadly... In GW2 you can dye everything, and even selecting specific parts to dye :3 I would love to see the same here one day.

Would like to see a craft retainer somewhat like the craft bank in GW2. I really hope they allow us to dye all armor though.

Yeah, we know from aumented AF its possible. Their original excuse was something about the texture prevented it or else it'll look dull.

If you look undyed gears texture is detailed, but once dyed it becomes somewhat dull. Though I don't think most people care about texture unless you really zoom in.

I don't know if this worth Q.Q over, there are really not many gear in game you cannot dye

Good looking vanity/glamour is a trophy that has to be earned. You don't need everything to be easily dyed to the color of your choice. The real problem is that SMN/BLM only has very ugly and no so ugly (but still ugly) options and not much else.
