Gerolt won't let me start quest "Up in Arms"

Hi,
I am having trouble even getting this quest to show up.

I am lev 50 SCH, I have "Omnilex Zenith" but when I go to Gerolt all I see is a locked red quest bubble for "A Relic Reborn" for my SMN. Which I don't want to do just yet. I am confused with why it is forcing me to choose that quest instead of letting me carry on with upgrading my Zenith Relic.

Anyone have any Ideas what the problem could be?
because this is quite annoying!

Your next quest is from Jalzahn who is by the house just down from Gerolt. The quest bubble should be on your map.

However Jalzahn also has a red quest bubble too, but it says "In order to receive the quest “Trials of the Braves,” you must be equipped with a relic weapon atma." Does this mean I have already taken the quest? because I don't even remember doing that ( I was a bit tipsy over the weekend xD ) even if I have taken the quest in a drunken state, there is nothing in my quest journal. *Scratches head*




EDIT: Ok so I logged on my Bard and took the quest with no problem then saw in the text that you have to access the quest from the "Completed" section in the journal then go to "Story Side quests" and it was in there. ( so I guess I did start it while under the influence . . ) but still, they don't make it easy to find stuff in this game jeez !! why would you put an incomplete quest in the "Completed" section of the fekkin journal !!
