How do you guys balance the materials?

Hey guys, I have a question about crafting materials (cloths, metals, ingots, etc.). How do you guys balance them from each other, and stacking them?

For example, You need to craft Woolen Yarn from 2 Fleeces, and then for the Woolen Cloth you need 2 Woolen Yarns. So do you need to craft a bunch of Woolen Yarns, then use those Woolen Yarns for every Woolen Cloths you can craft, after that you get a bunch of Fleeces and craft a bunch of Woolen Yarns again.

I'm asking for advice on how to work with this easier because of the mechanic that you need like the example I just said, which take a lot of times. Is there any easier way?

P/S: I hope you guys understand my question.

I have stacks of fleece and use a good website like http://ffxivcrafting.com/ (formerly crafting as a service).

Use the crafting/shopping list and make the exact number of items you need out of your stacks of base material. Sure you can sit on a stack of woolen yarn and make the cloth whenever necessary, but you do need the fleece for undyed felt too. Saves inventory space too.

If it's expensive, I'll math it out ahead of time myself or check ffxivcrafting and get as close to exactly what I need as is practical. If it's mid range or cheap and not significantly profitable, I'll just guesstimate a few chunks (size of chunk determined by cheapness) at a time until I'm all done, then sell whatever extra I end up with. If it's profitable enough to withstand some market fluctuation, I'll buy more than I know I'll need all at once.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

I use http://ffxivcrafting.com/ for one off items and figuring out how many of each I need.

For pricing things out I made a spreadsheet that I update semi-weekly (whenever I'm not lazy really) I just need to update the cost of ingredients off the MB and the price of the end products and it does all the math for me (using best and worst case prices). Then I go and farm most of the items anyways making it an even better best case.
