About chocobo armor

Level 10 chocobo armor.....if you get the tank armor can he wear it as dps/healer or only tank? still got a bit to go yet but i've been trying to decide.

Barding can be worn regardless of specialization. If you have the tank barding, your chocobo can still heal just fine.

Bardings are strictly for cosmetic changes.

There is also the "Levin Barding" which is not listed which is similar to the Tidal Barding in acquirement, but for Ramuh instead of Leviathan.

Also, you get your first specialized Barding at Rank 10 (ie Paladin, White Mage, Dragoon), your second specialized Barding at Rank 16, and all three Bardings at Rank 20. However, if you pick say, the Tank barding at Rank 10 you'll be stuck with that choice until Rank 16 or 20 when you can pick the other two. Respeccing your chocobo's specialization doesn't reset the barding you picked. In other words you can have Tank barding, reset your stats to Rank 10 Attacker chocobo, and you'll still only have access to the Tank Barding.

Question: Can you reset a spec before you reach rank 10, therefore change the path you were on for whatever barding?

Also, just to throw in two cents: Chocobo barding is awesome. GIVE US MORE BARDINGS. Because playing dress-up need not stop with our characters, but our adorable birds as well.

Yep! As long as you haven't already hit a milestone, you should be fine.
