Beyond 100% HQ rate for material items

While synthing horn glue for HQ version to make the spruce plywood I started pondering how come there can't be a way to at least produce more per synth for certain items.

When you consider you need 100 horn glue at mininum to make the item it just becomes a bit tedious considering how easy the synth is.

With that in mind I started wondering why don't they introduce a 200% and 300% HQ rate for materials, where in once you hit 100% you can then go beyond 100% in an attempt to obtain another +1 HQ of said material.

    Simple example:
Horn Glue at 100%=1 HQ horn glue
Horn Glue at 101%+= x% chance to obtain an additional Horn Glue HQ
Horn Glue at 200%=2 HQ horn glue
Horn Glue at 201%+=x% chance to obtain an additional Horn Glue HQ
Horn Glue at 300%=4 HQ horn glue

I just think given the current mechanics the process in which it takes to make certain HQ materials is a bit lacking and something like this would add another risk/reward factor that can then be pushed into higher level material synths with the obvious risk that if you end up failing the synth you lose the item.

Going from a real world logic stand point the problem is you can't create extra items from nothing.

Put this to carpenter where you produce logs. Currently you need 3 logs to make 1 lumber. Assuming you used all 3 logs to make the 1 lumber (ie the current normal synth) then you would need 6 logs to have enough materials to make 2 lumbers.

Real world logic aside since this is a video game I'd be all for this idea. It was possible to for this to happen in FFXI for items you would end up with more depending on the HQ you got. It was all random through so no way to increase the %.

How do you make 1 lumber out of 3 logs to begin with? Cut them up and glue them together? Your "real world logic" point is kind of rendered pointless by your own example, I certainly don't need any type of glue to synth lumber from logs.

Anyway, I support this idea when it's about materials, especially non-star ones. On 1-3 Star materials, I'm a bit on the fence. I wouldn't mind it either way, though. As long as this doesn't apply to products, like weapons, armor, food and such.

If only there was an option that allowed us to make many of one item automatically. Some kindof of quick way of doing synthesis.

Your methodology could give us a boost, and not just in HQ, but Super quality, Rare Quality, and Legendary Quality build. We could make Pink, Blue, and Purple items that can alter property in your crafting recipes. But I like your track

I feel your idea has a lot of merit but it can only work on special items. Lets look at CUL first, We have two types of salt, if if we could using volcano rock salt to make table salt. since it is a higher grade of item you could allow it yo give more. Like instead of 6 we might get 10 back.

For GoldSmith, we use Enrage craft. and Hit some ungodly number like 450%, on Electrum Ingot, It turn purple and and then counts as 4, so you basically have to craft 4 rights to at one time. for a Blue background right. like the I70 dark light rings.
