2.4 Blacklist

Any word or whisper about a larger Blacklist capacity for 2.4? Seriously kind of needing one. RMT spam is getting worse by the day, and for everyone you Blist and report, 3 more /tell you. They're even sending friends requests now. In an attempt to clean up my list which is at 197/200 as I post this, I deleted one from the top, and the SOB spammed me not even a minute after.

Really...my list is chock-full of these stupid names, will we have a larger Blist soon? Please?!

Yes the Blacklist limit could be larger. Would be a nice change. It would also be nice if deleted characters were auto-removed from people's Blacklists.

I just want some better features/convenience in the Blacklist and Report functions -- such as having Blacklist auto-deny Friend requests and not force me to manually decline multiple times first.

I used to report tons of RMT spammers and bots early on, but to be honest I just can't be bothered anymore. It's such a chore. If I could right-click a line in chat and select "Report This Message," the game could easily collect all the relevant data like character name, server, time & date, map, chat channel it appeared in, and the content of their message. It could automatically be filed in an accurate, detailed, convenient format that they can reference in their own database and find easily. The only work a player should have to do is selecting the reason for the report (RMT, harassment, cheating, etc.), and optionally include a brief note about what was going on. It would be simpler for them. It would be simpler for us.

But instead, they expect paying customers to do the work for them, and give accurate details and correct spelling of things like "Brrgghhkkffss Jkwlwlghhgrr" (I know copy/paste is possible, but even that can be annoying when chat keeps moving). They should consider the fact that if a player is trying to file a report, it's because they have already had a negative experience in the game. The hassle involved in reporting incidents is a huge disincentive to actually going through with it. It's like an unspoken way for the company to say "We don't really want to hear about this. If you really want to complain, then you can waste your own time doing it."

Because deleting older names on your blacklist is so hard right?
SE should increase the data size for every character to compensate for your laziness.

Or maybe the people in charge of taking care of names being blacklisted shouldn't be so lazy?? I've been capped at 200 for a month now and remove 5 names a day from the top, this isn't deleted names its straight names that are still in existence, which would suggest that the people taking care of such things, aren't on top of it like they should be. I add like 20 a day....

It takes 2 seconds to delete each, multiplied by 200. That's a valid argument if there was an easy way to clear BL or if deleted characters were automatically removed.

Auto-removal of deleted characters really should be a thing.

A delete all function would be useful, but still the solution is not to simply expand. Data expands to fill the space available for storage. Meaning to the types of people who ask for these sorts of things, those who are too lazy to do a little housekeeping themselves, SE will never add enough storage.
What you're saying is a true, a delete all function or an automatic removal for deleted characters would be the optimal addition.

Not every character that is banned is deleted. This is not because SE isn't doing their job, it is so that if they make a mistake, such as banning a character that has been hacked or used without the owners permission, it is reversible. Generally if you are receiving RMT spam from a character it will have been banned within a few hours. There is no need to leave these characters on your black list for more than a day, if that.

I became unwilling to remove some of them RMT shouters / tellers because I used to remove them once and the tell came back again from the removed person, probably because one week wasn't long enough. So I just kept all blacklisted people on my blacklist. It has become a habit HAHAHA.

That's why it grew to 179/200 for me now. I try to delete the (deleted) character once in a while so I'm not really capped at 200/200. It would be nicer if we can select multiple persons and remove from blacklist at the same time, though.

Also, after a week of adding to blacklist (which, in my opinion, is a reasonable cool down time to remove from blacklist) sometimes I can't remember whether I blacklisted the person for RMT tell or not (nowadays they start using names that seem legit). I would hate to accidentally remove annoying people/emote spammer/rude people/verbal abusive people/etc. So, a separated list (one for RMT only, other for others) will also be a nice addition.
