I think you are the forth person I have ever seen posting on this forum, that thinks the storyline is great.

Uhh, the game's storyline is very Final Fantasy. It's in line with all of the other Final Fantasies, drawing most heavily from FFIII (basically the same world, with the events of FFIII having taken place in the 4th era or so, if you put the pieces together) and FFVI (same basic plot - imperialistic empire that is technologically advanced trying to take over the world, said empire being manipulated by an evil psychopath (Nael = Kefka), an apocalypse happens (1.23->2.0 = WoB->WoR), second part of the game takes place in the ruins (ARR = World of Ruin), empire is using magical essence of espers/primals to empower their tech). People are so biased by their nostalgia these days... I laugh every time someone says something like "FFXIV's storyline is terrible! Why can't it be more like FFVI's?" because they're basically the same general storyline.

Personally, I like FFXIV's storyline. I like Final Fantasy games' style and story in general. I liked FFVI when I played it when I was a kid. I liked FFVI when I played through it again as an adult. IV was great too, as was IX, X, XII, and XIII. Tactics, of course, was the best. If you don't agree, don't blame me for your lack of taste, blame yourself or God.

To those who claim they hate the XIV storyline - if you don't like the plots of Final Fantasy games, why are you playing one, and why do you expect XIV's story to be better than or different from the other FF games? If you think you liked the other FF games' storylines, but do not like XIV's, I strongly recommend playing through the older games with a careful lookout for nostalgia-based bias.

If you pay attention to it, the storyline is actually pretty good (in my opinion).

It's not hatred for new players, you are just completely ignorant to my point here which, is coming thru loud and clear. I made my counter argument, it's that OP hasn't had time to experience the game to the fullest so OP is displaying thoughts or opinions based on a lack of experience which is just biased. If you want to take the opinions of an inexperienced player, by all means go ahead. If you would rather the thoughts of someone who has spent a bit more time playing, experiencing what the game has to offer, be my guest.

That's now how this works. You dismiss someone's arguments because it is wrong, not because of preconceived notions.

I've seen people that were level 50 on all jobs and crafts yet were terrible players. You don't see me saying that the opinion of people with a level 50 craft and jobs should be ignored.

You seem like the guy who would immediatly ignore a coworker's(with less experience in the same field of work as you) opinion simply because of a number and not whether it's true or not.

i played this game about a month too now
and i agree with most of your point, especially the character customization, skill system and world design
world design is perfect and beautiful, but it shame that its too restricted full of ivisible wall and with all zone and instances, it make less immersive for me, but still i can handle it and not really a big deal for me
about a couple days ago when iam randomly searching web about ff14, i found an article about translated interview with ff14 producer, it stated that there is planning to overhaul the world with less invisible wall and make the world truly open world in future expansion
i don't know if it's true or not, but i do hope its true, it will greatly improve the atmosfer, make it more immersive (at least imo )

I disagree on 1 aspect of the op's post. Trash mobs should have to be killed not just a few all of them. Regardless if you like them or not they are there and should be killed, no one should run from them. In order to access any boss in any instance, if there are trash mobs as players call them they ALL need to be killed, before you can access the boss.

Amen to that. There are trials like Titan EX and other primals where you can just go after the boss. The options are there for reason and players are free to choose.

If you could skip all the trash and just kill the bosses...why not make 5 minute dungeons that are just 3 bosses...
The number of abilities is fine right now. We're only at level 50 with an impending cap increase (expansion). Also giving you a library of abilities and a limited number of slots as you suggested...SOUNDS good...but then you're just pigeonholed by the "best" ability loadout (see FFXI's Blue Mage and "x spell or GTFO") as determined by the min/maxers.

annoying instead of fun .
. Skilles actions : playing next to a guy who is exactly like me and have the same style , no one like it ,why not to make it like 60 or 70 actions and he can pick 30 only with approche gives him different style .
. The charcter creation at the beginning .. There is no much options there .

Only one , the card mini game that we played in ff9 .. It was really great game and the best mini game ever , it will add a lot to ffxiv world .

Your hatred and contempt for newer players is coming thru loud and clear. If you disagree with his point make your counter argument, but to discredit someone because they are new just shows that you have no understanding as to what SE needs to do to attract new players. There is no reason to be harassing the OP for writing up his opinions about the game.
