    Twintania help?

So me and my FC put in a few tries on Twintania (we try to clear T5/do coil every saturday) (http://www.twitch.tv/clawshrimpy/c/5278042) we had to PF for tanks, and we seemed to be having the most problems w/ Divebombs. I'm still trying to learn how to move and dodge them myself. they're a lot harder to dodge than even dives on Levi. We had to stop because the PF tanks raged out, unfortunately. I just hope we can make more progress soon, but any and all help with Twin in terms of advice would be a good thing indeed.

I've only been running this with the FC because DF queues take forever and PF runs generally expect quick clears and not to wipe much at all.

Turn down your BGM, and turn up your sound effects. As soon as you hear the "bingbingabing" for the divebomb, run out toward the middle of the platform. And as soon as Twintania flies past, turn around and run to the ditch.

Don't cast anything during this phase. WHMs can use Regen, since it's instant and can be casted on the run, but they'll draw snake aggro as soon as they spawn, so they should have Shroud ready after the tanks tag the snakes.

Honestly, with echo it may be easier for some groups to just spread out during divebombs now a days. The pit is a great strat, and if you get bumped out there is even a second one on your right you can run too just in case. Most groups have more trouble with Twisters I think. Keep practicing!

General tips, I'd suggest keeping your camera zoomed out all the way so you can clearly see the field and any symbols above your head. Personally, I hide names/titles to minimize screen clutter as well. It can also help to mute the BGM and just focus on the sound effects as conflags, fireballs and divebombs all have a very distinct "ping". Focus targeting Twin is also crucial to keep an eye on what she's casting (important during Twister phase). I forget what the default keybind is for focus target but you can just make a macro that has /focustarget <t> and that'll get the job done.

Dive bomb specific advice: Once Twin hits 58%, get prepared for the neurolink to drop by moving closer to the pit (but not near the soak team), link will drop at 55%. The second it drops, get in the hole. I find it easiest to use strafe keys and just strafe in and out to dodge dive bombs, but do whatever is most comfortable for you. If you're a caster and pop sprint for the first dive bomb, it should last the duration of all three. Both the focus target bar and the "ping" sound effect will warn you to dive bombs before the green mark does so use those as an early warning to move.

If you get hit and knocked out, get away from the middle asap. If Twin targets someone not in the hole, she'll go in a straight line right across the middle and hit EVERYONE in the pit. Run to the sides of the arena if you get knocked out and only move back into the hole if its safe to do so (when snakes spawn is the safest bet).

    Hope that helps, good luck.

Well it seems that divebombs aren't so much the problem as much as it's that transition from conflag phase to the first divebomb that's the killer. I mean, we seem to lose a chunk of key people to the transition but then the people who are left can dodge the other divebombs but struggle once the snakes come up.

Not that I got to practice more, because I have to DF it until next saturday, and DF parties seem to wipe BEFORE divebombs. either deaths on the pull from adds going everywhere, or lack of tank surviving despite me trying my best.

For Divebombs these are a few things I usually do to make sure the party will dodge them:

    Know your Neurolink Markers First
If you are still learning the fight, know where to place your neurolinks. It sounds lame to mention in the context of DB, but tanking Twin in the right spots beforehand helps the party transition into DB phase better. Generally accepted strategy is:

First two to the right of the arena as you're entering.....both are placed between the pit to the far right. The third link going right in center (for phase after twisters/dreads).

    Anticipate 2nd Neurolink Drop
As Twin's HP bar moves closer to 50%, the 2nd link will drop and initiate the DB phase. Actually, at 55%, to be exact, the phase will begin. Once I notice the health creeping closer to 50%, I usually try to make sure I'm closer to the pit if I am dpsing or healing.

    Party Needs to Pack Tightly
If you're in the pit and one party member is too far away from the group, then targeted, it'll usually result in everyone getting hit. What we usually do in some parties is place a waymark in the pit, so everyone knows to be standing in the circle for DB.

Once the DB icon appears and you hear the sound effect, it's time to move asap. I usually tend to run uphill right by the neurolink, then turn back around.

If one or more party members gets hit during DB, DO NOT RUN BACK TO THE PIT, until the third DB hits. Reason being that it might result in more players getting hit.

    Snake Phase
If anyone was previously hit by DB and not in the pit, now is the time to get back into position. During this phase, everyone should be tightly stacked into the space in the pit while dpsing the snakes.

For anyone that is still learning the timing, I usually use a DB alert macro that counts the 45 seconds between the first and second set of DB. My personal alert gives a 30, 15, 10 and then 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 sound effect countdown to alert everyone to be back in place.

The second set of DB is the same as the first, but if you're healing, you won't have time to really cast anything, so regen or swiftcast + <spell> are your friends since you can cast while moving. Same for dpsing unless you're a bard (for example, if I blm the fight I will use scathe or procs if they pop).

If your party's ilvl is high enough, you will more than likely not get one-shot from DB unless you are thrown into the perimeter. The 20% echo really boosts your HP!

The key is with DB is how to also react when something does go wrong. The most common problem I've seen in the past is a person that gets hit running back into the pit while another DB is about to happen, resulting in more hits to the party.

Lastly, since everyone should have Twin on focus target, it also helps too that the focus bar will disappear for each DB, then reappear. So if anyone is still having issues with the DB marker and sound, they can also use the focus bar as another visual clue. If it pops on the screen, it's time to move

    Good luck!!

Or u can just hide in the 2nd pit.
Like really, has anyone ever considered there are "2" pits you can hide in?
Only problem it would create is if u were the tank.
But if u r a dps or a healer you have enough time to regroup for snakes so no excuses and with echo buff ur drop in dps won't matter.
