    DF Abuse

Now I\\'ve calmed down I thought I would post my concerns on here.

DF for aurum Vale. I was tanking, had a monk who would constantly pull threat from mobs not marked.

I thought hey I\\'ll let it slide. So we beat first boss after 3 tries. Asked if everyone knew the fight every time. They all say yes.

Get to coin collector ask same thing again. All yes. After attempt 5 we down him. So we leave the room and the dps peepw decide to run into the next room and pull everything.

I politely asked to abandon because even after asking them to stay to the marked adds they kept on pulling adds not marked.

I was met with abuse in such a way I was completely taken back. I reported said usera and I doubt anything will happen.

So my question is this to this generally amazing community.

Why do people use abusive language in DF when they don\\'t get their way?

Just like when any spoiled brat doesn't get their way, throw a tantrum.

Sadly, the world doesn't really work that way. There are way too many people who'll treat you like shit for the sole reason of being able to get away with it on the internet. There are people who behave in a manner online that would have the most peaceful person at their throat in a real life situation, because they feel safe enough behind the computer screen to show their true colours. It is unfortunate, but all you can do is report them and, if they're on your server, blacklist and warn your friends about them.

Personally, I wish we were allowed to post screenshots on the forum to call them out on a greater scale and make people's actions really come back to them in the long run, but the naming and shaming rules give everyone a free pass to behave horribly. We can only hope that SE will respond to the reports properly.

I understand you are doing your job the most efficiently got can but a good dps doesn't need a tank to take the time to mark mobs. By this level most dps know how to manage their own aggro and will attack the mob you pull with shield lob. Not to excuse dps for pulling, this shouldn't happen, but maybe pulling faster to keep the dungeon going at a steady pace would have helped.

I disagree with this. It's been my experience that pugs can't be trusted to do anything.

So OP keep marking and probably expect to be largely ignored... some players take pride in the way they play their jobs but the majority just want to be carried or are there for "lulz"

I've tanked AV and never had aggro issues when I don't mark. It's pretty easy to just switch targets if they decide to go for a different mob anyway. Agreed dps shouldn't pull, but if the dungeon is moving especially slow, with 8 wipes, I'd be getting antsy over the timer and expect the party to pick up the pace so we could complete the dungeon.

As a dd I've been on both sides of it, any dd who says they have never gone off target occasionally are full of it.
In regards to target marking, it is a waste of time aside from maybe attaching m1 to your toss to call that one out more past 30-40. Good dd are going to be watching the threat bars and how fast each mobs hp is going down. Bad/don't care dd are going to ignor them anyway.
