Can we get rid of elemental materia already?

Now that the demand for secondary stat materia is so high, what is the benefit of artificially boosting their scarcity with elemental materias?

I cannot think of a single positive way that elemental materia affects the economy.
The only people who benefit from this are gil sellers and people running bots.

If there was no junk then the value of the good ones would not be there, just look at the crafting and gathering. You should think harder.

Exactly. The value of 2 out of 16 possible conversions is wildly more inflated than the more balanced conversions of DoH/DoL materias.

The existence of the elemental materias drives people away from spirit bonding what they need for their relics and drives up the price for those that wish to purchase what they need.

A 2 stat relic weapon shouldn't cost more than an FC house.

Dear god no. What are you supposed to meld onto your equipment to speed up spirit bonding? It hard enough trying beat other crafters to the market board for "junk" materia.

I dunno.. Maybe unneeded main stat materia and all those cp1 and ss1 materia laying around? How would that not be more balanced?

Materia markets on some DCs are wildly out of whack if materia costs rival House costs. SE needs to balance this somehow.

When there are a few hundred other crafters online grabbing the level 1 and 2 materials for their own use or to sell on crafts those disappear fast. I've gone to the market board before to find all level one and two materia above 1500-3000 when the average for junk is 500. If you remove the elemental materia that's what, 35 types from circulation. Your logic is sound but my in game wallet shot down my my agreement (she's cold but fair, to me anyway).

The amount of total spiribonding required to obtain specific materia would drop significantly. The value of "junk" materia would go up not only due to it's usefulness to speeding up bonding, but also increase the chance of getting valuable materia out of transmutation.

Seems to me that it would overall balance the values of materia and bring in more people to spiritbond their own with the reduction in time required to farm specific types.
