However, the point is the series is more than 8-14. It starts at 1 and 1-7 have an incredible amount of nostalgia for any fan. And as you know 8+ couldnt happen without the success of 1-7.

Not to nitpick (though this is the forums, it's what forums are for) but the first 15 year gap in the FF franchise was between 1 and the Japanese release of 11. FF1 came out in 87. Even Dragon Quest came out as late as 86.
That said, your points are right even if your numbers aren't ^_^
