Returning player = looking for RP on EU servers

I'm returning to ARR with the aim of re-rolling my previous character and starting afresh. Currently trying to pick an EU server that has an RP community but it's trickier than you think (from the outside looking in to the game, that is!).

What's the population like on the server?

Is there an RP community?

Do you 'walk past' RP in the open world or do you have to look to find it?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I'm not sure about a specific EU RP server, but traditionally Balmung on the Aether server group (US Legacy server) is considered the de facto role-play server in the game. It's where most of the 1.0 roleplayers flocked too, and thus they kind of kept the RP community going there into ARR. As it's a US server it's based in the same physical data centre as the 'EU' servers as well.

And yes, trust me on it when I say so, but you don't have to look far to find people rping on Balmung - just walk down the street in Ul'dah or Limsa and you'll soon find what you're looking for.

If I remember correctly, the unofficial EU RP server is Moogle.
