I don't think it'll help as much as you'd think. It'd loosen up meld requirements, but if they don't change perception requirements, they won't be able to HQ them without melding or food (but lol food for unspoiled nodes)
I'm a little peeved not that they dropped the gathering requirement for umbral rock, but that the soil nodes are all listed, so now the price of soil will come down as it will be even more abundant on the market place. One of the few things we can mine that gives us a little decent return. Oh well, hopefully ebony logs and platinum ore sell.
grats on getting them all, but you said it yourself, you can get around the 5/10 with fc buffs 10/10. nothing is going to require both ever.
It was always 1 mc for the rod, dont spread wrong news everywhere
I did everything BIS and guess what... I'm 6 points from perception needed to see HQ Platinum. Our crafter is hard at work on the new 2nd hand tool, then it will be a walk in the park. Nothing has replaced either main tool as was the speculation. Yes, I realized I could have maxed out more perception on the current 2nd hand tool, but that would have been at the price of 6 gathering and 4 GP that is melded on my current 2nd hand tool. Still, 6 points perception is easy enough to get with the simplest foods, so I just stocked up on some until my new 2nd hand weapon can be completed.
Update: so I replaced my "old" 2nd hand tool with an identical one (I'll give the other to my retainer) and I changed the melds, so I got more perception. I now have 428 gathering and 420 perception. Right on that line, but at least I don't have to keep getting tomato pies from the market board to get Platinum (sorry, culinarian who was making gil from me).
