    So these Supras...

I see a few people with them time to time but very scarce. I'm getting that the consensus to get one is to be prepared for 2.4.

So would this be for another upgrade from the Supra or just adding more nodes that will need that extra 10 gathering that the Supra has on it. I'm getting close to be able to get one, haven't spent any gil, just gathered, crafted and desynthed.

Or should I just hang on to my Mastercraft and Fieldcraft demimateria....

    Thanks

Currently if you are able to hit the 2 star nodes without the supra then there is no point in getting the supras other than maybe a few % increase in chance/HQ chance.

The same can be said for the crafting ones. The current thinking is that they are going to be adding more nodes/recipes in 2.4+ that require the supras. If you have the items required to get them now then you could either hold on to the items to see if the new nodes are worth it and get the item then or get it now to show off.

I got all 11 Supra tools and not one of them makes any difference to crafting/gathering as is (except maybe the rod). I did it for only one reason - to be prepared for 2.4 and the next stage of the upgrade. The meager stats the Supra provides can easily be worked around with food, FC buffs, and offhand melds so the tools themselves can't possibly be needed for any current or future content, unless the content specifically requires that tool, like how the Ixali quests require those Ixali gloves.

There isn't a shadow of doubt in my mind that either in 2.4 or very soon afterwards you will be required to have the Supra to get the next tool. And there is no doubt that the stats this next tool provides, most likely in conjunction with other new i70 crafting/gathering gear, will be required for new crafting recipes and gathering nodes. People that said *holy crap that's way too much work for +10/5" will be left in the dust and I will be one of the only people on my server providing the new items. It will be a glorious time.

Of course, it is very possible (because this is SE we're talking about here), that the immediate next tool will be some sort of i80 filler tool like the Artisan/Forager tools, and that the Supra will only be required for the next-next tool, the i90 tool. This would make me a sad panda. But a prepared panda.

Good Lord, that's quite the accomplishment to get all of them...Did you just buy all the demimateria?

Hell no, that's stupid. I made 90% of them, and towards the end when I was really getting sick of the grind and horrible RNG (20 carby clocks and 0 FCIII's ffs) I bought the last 7 out of 9 mastercraft and about 4 FCIII's here and there. Broke me, but I got it over with and can now sit back and fish til 2.4.

Probably wait it out till patch release cuz if they release a class quest tool that is on par with supra then it'll probably leave a bitter taste in ur mouth lol.
If not then by all means just wait it out like the novus and alexandrites/ materia.
Get everything prepared then decide at end what u really wanna do.

Well I did get the Mammon Supra, figured what the heck...But I highly doubt they would release a class quest tool on par with the Supra, Pretty sure it will be either an upgrade or maybe an off hand Supra?

Who knows lol, it is 2.4 right?
The big patch SE has been raving about since a few patches ago.
Cuz at this stage SE likes to nerf things and make em easier to get as they were out for some time. So i guess he will make something to catch ppl up and the class quests final quest rewards r the easy way out.
But if there r none then more power to the supra crafters/ gatherers lol
May u swim in gil in 2.4

I grinded out the mats for all the supras as well, it wasnt too bad but yeah took ages to do.

so now I have all supra tools barring the rod because well I don't fish often enough to warrant it just yet.

chances are we will get new offhand tools in patch and not another upgrade to main hand. so yeah although it was a minor gain on the supras themselves when combined with new stat gains on a probable off-hand and maybe even other new gear that will need melding youll see how they will be needed for any 4* recipes.

so basically having them now puts you in the lead crafting wise and that means so long as the new recipes are desired and are not crazy expensive to make youll be able to turn a good profit for a while until other crafters catch up. which given the demand that will be placed on mastercraft and fieldcraft 3's may take them a while or cost them a fortune.

so a good choice to do might be buying the mastercraft and field 3's at there relatively low price right now as they may jump back up to the 500k+ mark and stay there for a while, that also being said more people may be trying to mass produce mastercraft and field 3's to sell in preparation and so prices my not seem to change much.

Well, the patch did say just that, but not regarding the Supra, at least not directly. As of 2.4: The gathering rating required to harvest items at the following gathering points has been lowered from 370 to 353.. and of course the nodes that include the fragrant log and umbral rock were listed. We only got two new unspoiled nodes, S Than for miner and Middle La Noscea for botanist. That said, Platinum Ore and Ebony log are added, so that's probably what we'll get on these nodes.

I'm a little peeved not that they dropped the gathering requirement for umbral rock, but that the soil nodes are all listed, so now the price of soil will come down as it will be even more abundant on the market place. One of the few things we can mine that gives us a little decent return. Oh well, hopefully ebony logs and platinum ore sell.
