Lazy retainers

Okay, so I leveled both my retainers to lvl50 miner and lvl50 botanist. Getting them to 50 took at least a month. And I've heard that giving them good gear increases the chances of them bringing you a good item. So I gave them my BIS perfectly melded gear for both classes.

Since then I burned through estimated 400 venture coins and never have gotten an item that's worth more than 15k. And I also can't use my botanist/miner gear since they are wearing it all the time. Does the gear really influence the stuff they bring you? Cause so far I really can't tell any difference.

Anyone else has the same bad luck? Or are my retainers just lazy and useless employees?

The higher level gear allows for them to be sent out on the higher level hunts. Each range of hunts has their own selection of possible drops. I'm not sure if there's a listing or spreadsheet available somewhere which summarizes exactly what each hunt for retainers at a certain level at a certain job may drop.

meaning you got less than 0.1% to actually get the thing you want

Supposedly it really does make a difference... Even when I send my poorly geared 50 GLA on quick ventures, it tells me I could get better stuff with better gear.

I don't thing things like melds do anything for the... Just ilvl... But I could be wrong

How does field ventures work with DoL if you need i80 for the highest rank venture?

All mine brings me back from lv40 exploration is Apkallu Down.. not much "exploring" going on there, he's hanging out at the beach then killing an Apkallu at the last minute to make it look like he was busy lol

Literally. Mine brought me a HQ Umbral Rock a couple of days back. If only he did that when I was actually mining them all those months ago.

How does field ventures work with DoL if you need i80 for the highest rank venture?

DOLs have a Gathering-level requirement, not iLvl. That takes some melding, and mine have forager's gear as well.

i send them on quick ventures when I am online and a big exploration before I log off for the night

If this is governed by RNG, and a pure one, then I got a bad news for you: It doesn't matter. ^^;

Gave them the bare minimum requirement of the highest venture, and cross your fingers. lol
