    Question about Direct Chat

    I was changing the keybinds on the PC version of FFXIV tonight and I glanced at a check box entitled "Enable Direct Chat" or something to that effect. At first, I thought "There is a way to use your microphone and chat with people. O_O" Then I searched the forums and found out that this feature will most likely never be implemented.

    That being the case, what is this direct chat? Does anybody know?

    direct chat results in keystrokes registering in the chat window automatically. It's basically for people who use a game pad so they can start typing in the chat window as soon as they hit a key as direct chat disables the use of commands with the keyboard.
