    Private housing. Why do so many items break if you want to upgrade your house?

    I am trying desperately to understand why there are so many housing items that break if you take them up. I understand walls, lights etc, but why do I have to relinquish my Purification/Projection Modules, Lord of Levin Lamp and mail boxes, to list the main items?
    None of these are fixtures.
    Am I the only one who's rather frustrated that if I want to invest in a bigger house I have to lose minimum of 10 mil worth of items? Surely a bind to player and not bind to plot would be a better idea? If people move house in real life they get to keep the rugs
    It makes me so sad because I really want to buy a medium but the idea of the amount of money I would lose by taking these items up just makes me sick
    Is there any way we can get an official response from our SE mods to explain the reasoning and if there's any chance of this situation being changed in the future?

    I too wish they would do away the destructible code on furniture.
    We can uproot trees and plants at will with no dire effect, why does putting an Odin statue away cause it to vaporize? It's not because it's tied to being unique furniture you can only have one of, as we have bathtubs and that waterfall which are also unique yet we can safely put them away. Just being made from a rare drop material isn't just cause either, because crafting stations aren't made from them yet also get destroyed, and summoning bells and company chests do not.
    I've lost several CT arches and Odin statues because I couldn't make them look nice in the restrictive lawn allotments.

    Because items needed for crafting those furnishings are supposed to stay rare(ish), or otherwise take a longer time to acquire (glazenuts, for example, which require crossbreeding and a certain amount of RL time). If the furniture was reusable, it would eventually lead to a higher and faster saturation of such mats on the market which, in term, takes away from their exclusiveness.

    Yeah...I found this a bit odd as well. I get that some items are super rare and that might justify those breaking, but what about stables and mailboxes? Those don't seem all too rare or hard to uproot from your property (well, stable maybe but definitely not a mailbox).

    Mailbox needs Mog Whisker, I'm guessing anything that Is crafted with "rare" uberlewt can't be picked back up.

    No you're not alone cos this system of having things destroyed on picking them up really never made much sense in the first place. If its to stop or prohibit reselling? Okay i can understand and respect that but a simple change in the system to where the items once placed are bound to the FC or owner of the house thus making the items unsellable would fix any and all of those issues.

    Though part of me does wanna believe its another gate by SE to push players into redoing content if they upgrade their homes.

    I understand those items being bound to you. Once used you can't trade or sell, but I don't understand them being bound to a plot of land. Nope sorry don't make sense to me.

    Is there a list somewhere of housing items that can't be moved? From what I know, its basically any item that requires a primal/trials drop. (i.e. titans heart or ads frame). Anything else?
