Soloing with scholar with cleric stance or as summoner?

What would work best to solo as a scholar when you put all your point in mind(for group content). Soloing as scholar with cleric stance or unlocking summoner(but having points in the wrong attribute)?

EDIT: My MP seems to be constantly above 50% no mater what I do, shall this remain or shall I later need to monitor my mp like a white mage needs to do? The Aetherflow and Energy Drain simply generate mp simply generate more then I use for now.

you would generally be better off as summoner most of the time. it'll go faster, you can generally kill things easier, and you get titan.

last I heard(a long time ago) 30 pints in int won't outright gimp you or make a drastic difference in damage. it'll make a bigger impact on heals.

Depends which one are you end gaming with ? For level 30-50 I used SMN for fates/hunt log and what not but for dungeons I used SCH just for the que time.

No, losing those points in intelligence is far worse for a summoner than a scholar losing 30 mind.

Remember you have to take gear into consideration as well. I have i86 or so SMN and i100 SCH. My SCH out DPS's my SMN when in Cleric Stance (I went full MND) for solo content as well as in Duty Finder (when I don't need to heal). For Low Level Roulette you can put Cleric Stance in slot 2 and never cast Physick, leaving healing to Eos and DPSing up a storm.

For soloing things like Alexandrite Maps I find SCH to be extremely easy. Between a Rank7 hybrid DPS/Healer chocobo and Eos/Selene I never have to heal myself. A SMN will have a much more difficult time trying to keep Titan alive to tank the enemies. That time tryting to keep Titan alive means less outgoing DPS.

Selene/Eos also makes for a better tank when doing things like Beastmen Quests. If you need to interact with a quest object but a monster is hitting you, Embrace will draw ire and she can continue to heal herself through at least 5 monsters giving you enough time to interact and swiftly complete your quests.

Soloing Scholar with Cleric Stance is better.
You have a fairy that will heal you and when you're in a bad situation you can either use Lustrate or just turn it off and spam Physick and shield up with Aldo.

Just play what you like to with the skill the job offers. As long as you survive encounters (which.. you should) then you could play any jobs.

That's why I can't wait to solo with Ninja, all these new skills to try and master..

The point of a game is to have fun. Except raids, then you need to check your stats

    Have fun! ^^

It depends on the scenario. For single target hunt objectives I like smn because it is just bio2, miasma, bio, fester -> dead. If you have Raging Strikes from arc it is even better. And combining Spur (lvl 45) and Enkindle (lvl 50) also does a good chunk of aoe damage.

Since you are still leveling though and haven't even faced Titan or Garuda there is going to be a lot of work involved with summoner. Certainly until you fight Titan just use sch. If, after Titan, you feel like you need tank help for soloing then you can try smn. Before then sch + cleric stance is your best bet.

BUT you should get thm up to 26 for swiftcast no matter which route you go.

Topaz Carbuncle tanks just fine solo until you unlock Titan. Titan is slightly better but only slightly.

For OP: SCH is great for soloing w/ Cleric stance since in solo content you can focus solely on nuking with the fairy covering you. It's nice to have the two while xping since SCH allows you to have faster queues for dungeons but SMN lets you kill stuff more easily while solo.

SMN will also be fine without the INT bonus points for low level soloing but you will want to remember to do its job quests. I uh... kinda forgot about bonus points while leveling SMN/SCH to 50 and had 0 problems.

I main SMN/SCH currently. I have multiple posts asking simular questions. The answer comes down to this: if you want to play both, do a 15/15 int/mnd split. my blog has the best info, though it was backed up here in the forums.

"Welcome to the ranks of the blue mages. However, at this moment you are but an empty vessel--a base creature, weaker than the most ordinary mortal. A blue mage must wrest her strength and vitality from her enemies. Show me your hunger for unrivaled power! This is the only guidance I shall give you."
