double the mana cost and cooldown for a 30% damage increase? The cooldown is HALVED meaning after dots you can spam them back to back. making it 30% more efficient.
and by the way, now that i have stacked int so far up to 140, they hit for 500 consistently (rank 1s) i can clear the whole upper level beastcamp at treespeak (10 mobs or so) only having to sit a couple times. 400 sp.
wow had a severe problem such as this in the early years, where it was more healing per mana [HPM] to just use a lower rank heal in situations where people werent going to die fast enough for it to mattter. in this case, such as soloing, where your mana pool counts, i have 30% more [DPM] by using scourge 1 and banish 1. they solved this problem by making lower rank spells have absurd mana costs so using them would be an utter complete waste of your mana.
This all has solo in mind so keep that in mind, anywhere where your mana doesnt count (such as behests or leves) its fine to use rank 2 spells, or it could be even worse considering the low hp of the mobs.

rank 1 is imba if you ask me. (with current mana regen in mind)
