How you learnt you primal/coil fight?

You all know, nowadays almost all PF groups require previous kill to get in.

But, how you all have learnt the way to the kills? Show your nasty secrets!

Will start with myself: reading some guide on the interwebb, then if cannot do with FC for some reason, done DF to death

Not to mention, sometime going blindly to feel the awesomeness to learn things myself

Watched a video then queued in DF, practice makes perfect.

Its like playing Dark Souls 2, watching boss videos then going "That looked so easy, I don't die" then gone in an got beaten to a pulp, videos and guides can only teach you so much because you will have your own personal tricks to help with the fight.

Watched a video to get the most basic understanding of the fight's mechanics, joined a learning group until I was comfortable with the mechanics or got a win.

It doesn't take that long really, I picked up T6 in about...10 tries or so. All I ask is that if you, personally, insist on going in blind, please make a group specifically for that. There is nothing in the world more frustrating to six people who are trying to get comfortable with mechanics than watching two people who have no clue what they're doing wipe the whole group twenty times to the same thing because they have no idea why they should do what everyone else is trying to teach them to do.

For the high tier content (EX Primals, coil), I've used MTQcapture - her videos are fantastic at explaining the fights, and while a lot of them have a whole lot going on you at least see everything and can be like "oh! That thing popping up, I'm supposed to do this, right?" ; you can always ask your first group for clarity on things.

(I get the whole 'go in blind' mentality btw, but if you're going to start by just asking someone to explain before the fight begins, please try looking it up yourself first or asking players before queueing up - there are amazing resources like the above that will teach you more than a few garbled lines of attempted explanation from party members, nevermind the like 15 minute delay while we try to explain when we could be getting in actual practice.)

As for getting actual experience, groups with my Free Company are vastly preferred, although if that's not an option I'll also hawk over Party Finder groups. Learning are preferred for first experiences, and generally I find that if you've spent a couple hours in learning groups without success or have come really close, mentioning that to the leader of a group that's looking for a clear party will usually get you a pass. "Haven't cleared Titan EX but have survived through a full final phase cycle, can I come along?"

Well basically, go in: trial and error.. Not much to know when content is brand new.

When there are vids/guides up you could check those. When you try to tackle content right off the bat, there is no info other than other groups willing to share their experiences. This for me gives me the best MMO experience.

Ho well, about going blind, yes it needs be done properly. I were used to "server first" somewhere else so that the reason I'd like sometime revive that awesome moments where you don't know anything of what's ahead. Today is almost impossible, as long as now you get in with groups that, even if DF, most players already know things.
But go blind and go careless are two distinct things. If I learn that killing the turtle is bad, I will never kill the turtle again. When someone headlessly will continue to kill that ***** turtle, here we have a problem

The problem is that, some ppl cant read, it's ok to not know how to do, but I already saw a tank dpsing the turtle for a while, I was saying him to stop, and, it's a good thing that he wasn't dodging, I just let him die, and it worked.
Now, I'm wondering if he was not simply a bot, someone cant be that stupid... Seeing that he's dying and still not dodging... why ?

For me, I learned at begining with videos, already was cleared when I came.
For Second coil after, learned with guide, when they came (there is always group that clear faster that write guides)

And for the " news primals ":
Leviathan : Went 3-4 times in HM, went in Ex after, cleared fast coz this one is too easy
Moggle : Just watch a video once, not too many things to know, just some dispel to do and things to dodge at middle (If you stay there, I prefered staying there to be in range to heal everyone)
Ramuh : Yolo, learning with my team, didn't saw any guide before we cleared (maybe there was one, didn't search), it's not a fight hard to understand, but it's sill not simple.

videos dont work for me, i learn MUCH better through experience. ill play the fight without videos and usually general tips from friends...im a quick learner so at the sake of those raging people in DF who expect me to at least watch a video. i usually pick up on mechanics after one or two times i wipe to it and watching how other players in my group do it. s'not too hard for me to have situational awareness, as opposed to watching a video that i forget in its entirety before i actually start the fight lol
